And then I put channel 4 on and see Soubry on some chat show.....ffs, can we not be rid of this woman.....
One of the saddest losses to UK politics in recent times.

Perhaps my biggest gripe with MPs is the blatant, selfish careerism. Voting in favour of things that they don’t particularly agree with, or modifying their opinions to fit in with the political winds. All to either further their career or hold on to their seat.

Far too many of them behave like this and it makes me incredibly angry. I think it is the root of a lot of the dysfunction of our politics.

Although I’m a lefty and not generally fond of Tories, Anna Soubry is a damn hero. Stood up for what she believed was right despite all the grief it invited from her own colleagues, and despite the fact that she represented a hard core ‘Leave’ constituency and must have known full well it was likely to lead to her losing her seat.

She put her principles and what she truly believed was best for the country above her own job and security.

We need more like her.

Having read lots on-line and heard and seen plenty on the radio and tv today, so many blame Labour being massacred on the disastrous 'leadership' of Jeremy Corbyn...and that's off Labour supporters and former MPs who lost their seats last night. He's being panned left right and centre.

I suppose it says everything about the man when even a clown like Boris Johnson is seen as a better bet by the majority of the voting public.

My view is the current lot are the worst set of politicians I've seen in my lifetime. On all sides.
