Sell Rodwell, bring Pranjic and Dempsey and Pienaar full time and we will be good next season. swerve Drenthe off.

I've not read this thread but why are we getting rid of Jags?

Well we turned down £10m from Arsenal in the summer, and i think a lot of people believe that getting £10m for a decent CB with terrible distribution would allow us to improve other areas of the squad.

Unless Kenwright suddenly stops being a tit then selling is the only way we'll be able to buy, and other parts of the team like RB, RM and CAM need sorting out, and that requires money.

Rodwell was arguabley our best player up until November.

Weve played better due to players we brought in. Rodwell didnt get a chance to play in the team with pienaar, donovan, jelavic and gibson.

Would be unfair to say we are a better team without him without seeing him play with the new players, or indeed playing with freedom in an attacking role

I don't think Moyes next season would play Rodwell over Gibson who is great partnering with Felli. Could be put in the CAM position, but doubt Moyes would choose him over Cahill who is doing terrible.

20 mill and peanuts? Tell me that does not sound delicious.

I'd say there is more chance of me getting mouth service from Angelina Jolie than us getting £20m+Pienaar for Rodwell.

It's impossible unless we get extremely lucky and sign about five outstanding players of the same age at the same time for almost no outlay.

We've seen it too many times. We need better players than what we've already got if we're going to improve but we have to sell our best players to raise any money. Look at yesterday, you could go through positions and say if we'd had someone better there, or someone better here - but that means we wouldn't have had so and so.

Added to that we're not in Europe again so we won't be able to get any of the better journeyman cheap European players. I can't see a way out to be honest.

Would you flog Rodwell and Jags for a combined price of £25m ?

Won't happen for a variety of reasons, but i'd find that very hard to turn down.

Look what you've done. You've made BrOwNz go all serious and down in the dumps ffs.

Monsters.

Blah, blah, blah ****ing blah, dream on. No money because Kenwrong won't sell, no significant change to the squad because Kenwrong has 'no money'. No changes full stop because next season we will still have Moyes and Kenwrong. I'm pissed and sad so **** off if you can't take it.

Every year someone comes up with a list like this of players we should sell / "get rid of". Usually they've already figured out how they're going to spend these imaginary transfer fees.

As far as I know there's only two ways to get rid of players in the middle of their contract : sell them or loan them. Loaning them is less attractive because they'll end up being sold on for a lesser fee or playing out their contract. And Everton have such a small squad we can't afford to loan out many players from our matchday squad. But selling them is only possible if another club makes a reasonable offer. So remind me, how many offers have we had for Cahill, Osman, Anichebe, Hibbert etc ? And what makes anyone think we're going to get offers in for them this summer ?

The transfer window was very quiet in January and I think will be quiet again this summer as the big clubs aren't able to splash the cash in the same way as they did 2 or 3 years ago and have to be really selective in who they go for. So there may be interest in Baines, but I'd be surprised if there was much interest in Fellaini, Jagielka or the injured Rodwell.

So I don't think there'll be any huge clearout, and I don't think that's such a bad thing. The team's got a solid foundation to it, thanks to the likes of Howard, Heitinga, Distin, Fellaini, Gibson, Osman and Jelavic.

So what might happen ? Having let 4 strikers go in the past year Moyes still has a dilemma, as Jelavic is the only top drawer striker we have - Cahill and the Straq aren't scoring enough, Vellios isn't playing well enough to make the bench, McFadden will be out the door in the summer, and Anichebe ... is Anichebe. It would be no great surprise if we sold Anichebe to (say) Blackburn and let the Straq go back to Argentina. But how do we find the money to replace them, especially if we're hoping to buy Pienaar, that's the problem.

And it's not just strikers Moyes will be looking at. Neville and Distin are in their mid 30s, and we could use some fresh legs at left back and right back.

We wouldn't get that much and we'd then have to replace them and have money left over for an additional player. Very difficult to do without either signing inferior replacements or the additional player being no better than what we've already got.

Watching us get outplayed by Martin Skrtel and Jay Spearing already did this unfortunately mate.
