Do what City did with Guardiola. He gets to the end of the season, but we agree terms with Fonseca (or whoever) nice and early, get that announced and everyone’s happy. Fans are happy Sam is going, Sam’s happy with his megabucks and the new manager gets a full pre season to assess the squad, bring his own team in and buy some players.

I fully expect Everton to mess this up spectacularly.

You didn't. But the scenario you put forward would be a disaster. Allardyce is the most uncomplicated manager in England. You know what you get regardless of the players he has. Archaic hoofball, albeit semi organised with players very disciplined usually. No room for flair, no tactical awareness offensively, but a guaranteed 42-47 points. Midtable dross. If that's what the board want then that's sad. If they expect Allardyce to challenge much higher up then that's delusional and goes against 20 years of hard evidence.

Which is why I said change his mandate. If he is as good as he thinks he is, (he isnt), then he will deliver that mandate.

Not what I want, but I can 100% see the board doing that.

That's all irrelevant now though, Moshiri has had 5 months to do due dilligence on a new manager (remember he initially wanted to give Allardyce a 6 month contract). If he hasn't done so then that is gross negligence. He can offer a new manager a full pre-season, resources to improve the squad and guaranteed premier league football next year. If he still can't find a decent candidate who wants to come to the club then that is a failing at boardroom level rather than some sort of global manager shortage. I agree with you that options were limited in the Autumn because of a myriad of issues but most of those issues do not apply now and the decision regarding Allardyce's employment will be a clear statement of the true intent of the board for this club.

True. It is irrelevant now.

I'm not sure I trust Moshiri. He doesn't have the first clue about anything that's actually happening on the pitch, if his balance sheet tells him Allardyce is achieving his objectives then he could well stay next season. Having said that, I'm still 75% sure we'll finish about 11th and he'll go.

Still be here next season, be suprised at any other outcome. Besides why would Moshiri sack someone who has done the job they are paid to do ?

Good point. I could argue that the job will be finished at the end of the season, so as far as contracting goes this one is up for Allardyce as a “job done”.

I wouldn’t blame Moshiri for taking that view and quite rightly appointing a better manager on a more long term basis that will do what is now a “different” job if that makes sense.

Horses for courses?

We’re stuck with him aren’t we.

:(

He did a an alrightish job.But nothing more or nothing less than that. There's no need for big speeches here.He just hasn't got what it takes, to manage a club like Everton.

The bookies have Mourinho, who just signed a new deal, as more likely to be the next manager to leave than Fat Sam.

I was expecting the options to be more “game of thrones” in style, just because of the title of the thread like;
  • Public beheading
  • Paraded through the streets and spat on
  • Married off to a spoilt prince
  • Fed to a dragon
  • Sent north of the wall
Therefore, I am disappointed by this thread :hayee::mad::Dlol
