A huge amount of ignorance and mis-information surrounding the Tommy Robinson jailing going around atm. Especially overseas, where they havent been exposed to this slimy little deviant before.

Free speech has nothing to do with the matter. He was arrested last year for interfering with an ongoing trial by filming at the courthouse and assuming the defendants guilt before a verdict.

He did it again, in breach of his suspended sentence and was locked up for it.

The Judge gagged the reporting to attempt to reduce the damage to an ongoing court case.

This has nothing to do with freedom of speech and his opinions, but to do with a vile little man trying to undermine our judiciary.

It also annoys me to see people discussing some of his opinions that they agree with.
If you know anything about him, his character, what he stands for and the type of person that typically supports him, you'd do well to distance yourself from any of his rhetoric.

Even if you do agree with some of his points regarding the issue of grooming gangs (a difficult subject for sure) there are plenty of people out there who will argue similar points but in an intelligent, educated and unbiased manner.

You don't need this racist, manipulative little weasel to back up your opinions.

‘To quarterback behind the scenes, third-party efforts’: the tobacco industry and the Tea Party

Abstract
Background The Tea Party, which gained prominence in the USA in 2009, advocates limited government and low taxes. Tea Party organisations, particularly Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks, oppose smoke-free laws and tobacco taxes.

Methods We used the Legacy Tobacco Documents Library, the Wayback Machine, Google, LexisNexis, the Center for Media and Democracy and the Center for Responsive Politics (opensecrets.org) to examine the tobacco companies’ connections to the Tea Party.

Results Starting in the 1980s, tobacco companies worked to create the appearance of broad opposition to tobacco control policies by attempting to create a grassroots smokers’ rights movement. Simultaneously, they funded and worked through third-party groups, such as Citizens for a Sound Economy, the predecessor of AFP and FreedomWorks, to accomplish their economic and political agenda. There has been continuity of some key players, strategies and messages from these groups to Tea Party organisations. As of 2012, the Tea Party was beginning to spread internationally.

Conclusions Rather than being a purely grassroots movement that spontaneously developed in 2009, the Tea Party has developed over time, in part through decades of work by the tobacco industry and other corporate interests. It is important for tobacco control advocates in the USA and internationally, to anticipate and counter Tea Party opposition to tobacco control policies and ensure that policymakers, the media and the public understand the longstanding connection between the tobacco industry, the Tea Party and its associated organisations.

Can the FLA please sod off to Syria if they want to fight extremism so much? Cos they're not doing it by marching around shouting 'Muslims off our streets'. They'd happily shove Salah et al in a gas chamber if they could. I know it sounds extreme, but I'm Jewish, the same kind of people were marching against us back in the '30s, and they wanted us dead. The FLA are not combatting extremism by getting drunk and marching around Manchester shouting 'Muslims off our streets'. They are the kind of people who make me feel unsafe at matches, and 40 years ago they'd have pelted Regis and Anderson with bananas and made monkey noises at them.
The problem is that 84% of grooming gang members in the UK are Asian. The vast majority of whom identify as Muslim.

When you compare that to the percentage of Muslims in the UK population it becomes clear that there is a cultural issue.

What people are doing is writing off somebody’s position because of their character, and not the value in their position.

Child and female exploitation is a particular problem in Muslim communities. That is a fact backed up by evidence, whether you think Robinson is a scummer or not.
Pakistani. There are conversations to be had about this. The virgin/whore complex that these men have towards women and girls is a problem. But SYL isn't doing anything to tackle the problem other than making a tit of himself. If they cared that much about paedophilia they wouldn't harbour sex offenders in their ranks. They care about it solely because Pakistanis are raping 'their' women (black and Sikh girls have also been abused by these men, but they get ignored.). It's transparent. Btw have you got any official confirmation of these stats? Because I've heard that the vast majority of sex offenders here are white.

I recently spoke to a guy whose mum worked with abuse victims, and people like SYL just make her job harder.
It is true though - it's a twisted interpretation where they hold Islam as only applicable to Muslim women, and white women are disposable and essentially property to be used and thrown away.

https://news.sky.com/story/grooming-gang-convictions-84-asian-say-researchers-11164589

Video halfway down by the CEO of the Ramadhan Foundation says it better than I probably am doing, but there's no doubt that elements of extreme Islam target white women specifically for abuse - that is undeniable, but what is deniable is the extent of it; because it's exceptionally rare and has been propagated by the likes of the Times and taken on by oxygen thieves like Robinson as being an endemic problem with the whole religion when it simply isn't.

EDIT: I know the source of that is controversial in its' own right, but I believe it to be true personally. It explains the high percentage of Asians committing the crime yet it being a rare crime in itself - because it's a fringe element of one religion committing it (although it could be argued that "grooming gangs" applies to Asians whereas "Pedophile Rings" apply to whites and that they should be interchangeable when discussing this topic.)
This is what I mean about the virgin/whore complex. Nice Pakistani Muslim women are wives; white, black, Sikh and non-religious Muslim girls are disposable trash.

ethnicprofile.jpg

5.6% of prisoner sex offender population are Asian. 2007

Over ten years old but still. Pretty certain that Asians represent about the same amount of the population so there is no significant difference.

The same article
https://fullfact.org/news/are-asians-disproportionately-represented-prosecutions-sex-offences/ goes on to state, with regards to grooming gangs:

‘while the white ethnic group makes up the largest proprotion of all offenders, it is far below the proportion of white people in the general population. Meanwhile, those of Asian origin are indeed disproportionately represented here.’

So there does appear to be something going on here but I don’t think it can be diluted down to the common rhetoric that Muslims gangs preying on young girls are a prevalent problem in our urban areas.

As an aside, With the overwhelming majority of victims of sex offences being female and the majority of perpetrators being male, I’d love to see tommy Robinson et al March against male sexual violence. Of course, that wouldn’t neatly fit with their ‘white man’ agenda.

I know white Muslims exist, we have one who plays for us, but these guys equate Muslim with Asian. I mean, some of them have attacked Sikhs for crying out loud because hurr durr brown = Muslim. And they make a huge point of talking about WHITE girls being raped.
Absolutely this.

It's intellectually dishonest when those on the far-right say 'Islam isn't a race'. We know it isn't a race, but we also know that many equate Muslim with brown person. 'China' isn't a race, but I doubt anyone would disagree that 'chink' is a racist term. Pakistan isn't a race, but we all know how racist a word '[Poor language removed]' is. There are tons of other examples.

So my message to racists: stop being dishonest cowards.^^

Who am I being racist at? My point is that the far right only care about white girls being raped. Not girls of colour. The black and Asian victims never get mentioned.

And no, I don't think brown = Muslim, I'm not a complete flaming idiot.
