Current Affairs The Far Right

Stalin was a human, not a political ideology. We mustn't get confused between people who wrongly implement political ideology with extreme methods and the theory itself.

As I've said, the extremes are a lot closer to each other on many issues than the spectrum suggests. We rightly use Hitler as an example of the dangers of the far right. So it's equally right we use Stalin and the repression in communist countries as an example of the dangers of the far left. Both extremes are full of hatred and oppression. Swerve both.

I don't believe in political ideology particularly. I prefer looking at facts, context and using my brain. Ideology is a stubborn thing in far too many politicians. Give me pragmatism any day.

If Stalin is an example of how the far left are just as bad as the far right, you may as well say Harold Shipman shows that being a doctor is just as bad as being a murderer.
If you cannot see that Hitler and Stalin had far more in common than they had differing, then you aren't really ready for a sensible discussion regarding the dangers of extremism at BOTH ends of the political spectrum.

The idea that some people equate Trump with Hitler is silly enough, but to then deny that Stalin was as bad as Hitler is simply frightening.

Stalin, Mao etc known as the extreme left were Facists under any description of the term just like Hitler, etc from the other side .. when you see your fellow humans as 2nd class citizens and undesireables then you have no claim yourself to be human

It's like drawing a circle from a single spot at the top. Draw one arc to the left and draw one arc to the right, they meet at the bottom having followed left and right dogma. Centrists sit at the top, extreme left and extreme right sit together where they join at the bottom........copyright Peteblue 3 Feb 2017.........

They were almost identical, I can see that. But my point is that Stalin was a facist lunatic who is not representative of the far-left.

At no point did I say Stalin was better than Hitler, by the way. This is either poor comprehension or just fabrication.

You seem to equate 'far left' as something like a liberal who is also cuddly, the far left and far right are exactly the same bunch of nutters.......

They really aren't though.

Plenty of people claiming to represent the far left have acted horrifically throughout history, I'm not denying that. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot etc. were all terrible people. But the ideology of the far-left and far-right are completely opposite, hence the spectrum.

See the diagram I posted earlier, but when you push it to the extreme they are the same set of barstewards....
