We might find their views abhorrent but in a civilised society they have their right to air them. As I've already said I like everyone to completely ignore them, they'd disappear pretty sharpish if nobody paid them the slightest attention and they'd soon go go back to their mums basement.

There is something in what you say there about ignoring them and regarding the right to air their views; however I am not comfortable about their racist attitudes in general being arrogantly flaunted in my city....I am of the view that we should try and counter their arguments and show them that they are just not welcome in Liverpool and if that means having a presence when they arrive so be it...it worked last time they tried.

I understand your views mate. I have no time for the vile EDL either but by having a confrontation like that you give them the attention they want. They're idiots and should not even be given the time and respect of an argument. I've written what id like our response to be on the previous page and I stand by that. A mutli faith get together with people of all views peacefully showing how abhorrent the EDL is by our unity. I bealieve this is actually happening somewhere in the city and I will definitely be going there. I'd also like a massive sign displaying our contempt. All we do with a counter protest is make life harder for the police and give these knuckledraggers the attention they crave thus prolonging their stay which id rather was the shortest possible duration myself.

Peaceful protest is how you publicise this. Challenge their views, don't ignore. Get your message out.

Sensible words my friend...if only this was the case - I think there should be a peaceful protest as you suggest but people get wound up by these pond life scum and one thing leads to another...unfortunately ;)

Ignore them, not likely ... second time in a year the EDL have tried to march in Liverpool and second time they have been met by thousands and sent back under the rocks they crawled from under. Gobshites. Well done Merseysiders.16406540_10158137789915082_8363732026634178270_n.webp

Ye and it's given those odious rats exacally what they wanted, a big chance to buzz of all the attention. As well as making life even harder for the police to make everything go off without incident. Well done indeed.

I do respect that view regarding the position it puts police in. I've got family members in the police and they have enough on their plates at the moment. The fact is none of these racists are from Liverpool, they travel here from across the country fully aware they won't be welcome in a tolerant city, but come just to garner that attention, insult people and cause trouble. They should stay at home Seig Heiling at their mirrors and give us all a break.

I'm generally proud of my city and sometimes it's for random things , sometimes probably for things that are mostly in my head rather than in reality . However the fact that fascists repeatedly can't get out of a station at a city in the north , in a city with an array of social problems & after a recent terrorist incident makes me ridiculously proud .

If that's wrong then I'm not even going to apologise, two bob fascists do not belong here .
