I cringe for those using far right and fascist in this day and age. Get a grip.

You do realise that not everything Hitler said isn't automatically evil, right?

I mean, if he said "I enjoyed that slice of toast", is everyone who eats toast like Hitler in every way because of it? Or "Bayern Munich were boss on Saturday" = "everyone who likes Bayern is a Nazi."

It would seem certain nationalistic types have no sense of irony after all.

I suppose the far side of both arguments is bad but for different reasons.

However in these days of unnecessary forced austerity and a horrible gnawing away at what's left of public services I really don't see how anyone could align themselves entirely to the right.

The word fascist seems to be applied to anything right of centre.

There are hypocrits and idiots on both sides of the political spectrum, not just left or right. And both sides seem to think the other side is worse for it.

A lot of people on the left don't want to crush capitalism, they just want to see some of it's excesses curbed.

Yes, but what's wrong with (for example) aspiring to have a good, well paid job, but paying all your taxes, supporting public services & giving a bit back where you can? It doesn't make a left leaning person a hypocrit to be financially successful, unless they're someone who rants about overthrowing capitalism.
