Ha ha i can see about four Kenwrong threads started today and very few replies to this post probably the most significant in terms of information on the board. Says it all really.

Wow, i think the most significant thing is this article is the growing trend in PL that have debts above their turnover. Things look praticularly bad at Villa and Bolton.

Its easier to say fcuk the board and make stories up about non existent wage earners than look at the reality.

Just read an interesting article in the Guardian about the debt of the premier league clubs. Some interesting information which I'm sure you can all pick out. Some highlights;

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/19/premier-league-finances-black-hole

  • Everton is not the only premier league club where the owners have not in any money
  • Kenwright is a major, but not the majority owner
  • Despite claims to the contrary, no Director has taken money out of the club, even for scouting purposes
  • Everton, given their deep dependence on Sky money is a "sell to buy" club

Unfortunately, the author has not provided comparison tables, but it might match up with information provided by Neller in another tread. Thoughts?

Where's this assertion's evidence.

and you would do better how?

im assuming youve become a millionaire through your business acumen so have plenty of spare change to invest?

if you could do better why havent you?

if any of us were millionaires we might or might not do better than kenwright.whos to say ? thats pee'ing in the wind tbh.

but we do have the power of hindsight and i think its fair to say that theres been not 1 or 2 , but a pretty big list of costly errors and letdowns. after a decade of this , things off the pitch are clearly not working at an adequate level imo.

sorry to bang a tired drum but ....... the kings dock , fsf , ntl deal , kirkby , birch/wyness , blah blah blah .... these were all big issues to me that i cant ignore.it also doesnt seem to stop ,the board seem to lurch from one calamity to another.
im not saying there bad people , i am saying there not up to the task.

how many times have we got to watch a person eat his own turds before we realise they are a bit 'simple' and shouldnt be left alone with crayons let alone left in charge of a nuclear reactor ?

well if i owned my own business as a result of my own business ability and financial standing I would struggle to comprehend how someone who hasn’t got that same acumen and ability could critique my running of said business, i guess the same goes for the running of a football club, so yes, that’s the point im making. Those who can, do, those who can’t moan about those who can!

So if you go to a restaurant and the foods rank, you wouldn't compain to the chef unless you could do better?

If you listen to music, you don't venture an opinion unless you're a musician?

Come on, the ability to say "this is good, this is bad" is entirely seperate to the ability to know how to make good stuff and bad stuff.

I'm an electrical engineer, if I fix stuff and it doesn't work, the guys I'm working for bring it back to me and say "it doesn't work", if I then say "I bet you can't do any better", they will reply "You're right I can't. that's why I pay you to do it. What can I do however is tell that this should be working and it isn't. And if you can't do it, I'll find someone else who can."

Everton are that broken engine, mate.

Your missing my point, they had the acumen and intelligence to get there, none of us did. why do you think you could do better? or more importantly who do you think could do better? surely if you could you would or if someone else thought they could they would? im pretty good at what i do but i could never presume i could translate that to the running of a football club, in all honesty i wish i could but i know i cant, im realistic in that respect. i therefore dont see how i can bitch and moan about someone who through their own hard work is able to?

like i said earlier, would you put all you had into our club without the need for any return? as alluded to on another thread, football clubs dont make any money! Utd, City, RM, Barca and the Milan clubs all lose fortunes, would you lose yours?

Where's this assertion's evidence.

Conspiracy theories are rarely based on real evidence, they are often based on a shared assumption about the other. So if you believe someone to be dishonorable, its not a far leap to claim that they are thieves as well.

Tell that to Fred Goodwin.

Now his super injunction's been BUSTED.

Everton are one of just four out of twenty premier league clubs whose the owners have put sweet FA in, the other three being:

Man U - a money accruing juggernaut, no need to invest
Arsenal - on the way to being the above
West Brom - just one other owner sitting on their purchase awaiting "the right buyer" aka $$$$ ?

Can this post be kept separate from the hub?

It's groundhog day.

I just want to see us play boss football and win shiny stuff.

Thats a cup I reckon you could win.

To compare a football club to a restaurant is naive at best, restaraunts make a profit or they fold, football clubs dont make money! read whatever reports you want, its about balancing debt not making money even for clubs like UTD or RM.

if evertons the broke engine how would you fix it? its easy to criticise something, lets hear how you would improve it without a magical pot of gold or a lottery win! again, without getting anything in return

EVERY business must make money to pay it's bills.

Once debt and interest repayments put a club at a point where they're understrain and have to sell off assets in order to reduce the strain they can quickly implode.

Its like saying the Banks don't need to make money. ALL businesses need to make money and a profit - EVENTUALLY.

Debtors who don't pay back debt could face liquidation. That then makes them cease to exist. Its happened before and will happen again to football clubs. No matter the "size".

Bang, all the fury/conspirocey theories and basicly anything that seems really important about Kenwrighting/wronging/club put it in here.

My point exactly and very few do without selling players or rich owners investing their own money.

Out of interest and to save me searching the interweb, which clubs do make an operating profit (after servicing debts) without input from the owners? im sure there are several but the names escape me
