The David Moyes Thread - All In Here!

Who are these people who say he's the hardest working manager ever ? Where are the quotes ?

That's why it's a nothing statement, you're making a claim and providing no evidence to back it up before calling Davek's opinion laughable. Bit of a tittish thing to say really.

Lol, i never said he was the "hardest working manager ever" lol, stop twisting my words.

I've read loads of interviews with people who say Moyes works really hard. I don't need a quote, are you calling me a liar????

Yet you lambast him when he offers negative comments, such as knife - gunfight, all that.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

He's the one who wants it both ways about being seen alright by the board and pushing on, and then in th next breath saying he's starved of funds. Pointing that out isn't my problem, it's his.

As I say, he's done a job, now it's time he left. But he wont, because he's found his level and he's found a set of circumstances that allows his long term stay here. That's the true weight of it all.

One would imagine he cares about perceptions, so it's a little odd he hasn't done more to distance himself publically from the Spurs job (or at least publically curb the private desire he might have for the job) when there seems to be at least two or three managers they would look to before him. The non-committal statement is no longer professional: it is by-numbers, vacuous and transparent. Making it evident he wants a job he's unlikely to be offered is embarrassing for both him and us.

Nailed it.

Alan Pardew - "No (the spurs job would not interest me). Newcastle has gone terrifically well, we've got such a good young side and I'm just hoping we keep it all together for next year and have another go at it because we'll have a good go."

David Moyes - “All I can say is there has been no contact from Spurs. There has been no contact and that is how it is. I'm the Everton manager."

I hate to disappoint you mate, but you can't get blood from a stone.

Jose Mourinho could not get blood from this stone(board.)

That is the point I'm making, though. You're right, he cant force those men to back him - never has been able to. We all know finance is needed to fulfill ambitions...yet here is Moyes every so often telling us all he can get the job done. Well he cant. That to me is dishonest. He's not on the level when he makes those statements and if you factor in he's getting a huge wedge for staying at Everton it doesn't take too much more to be cynical about his motives or his role at Everton protecting that boardroom.
