The example we've used is Denmark where there is opposition to any form of migration. In fact the intention is for 0 asylum policy and hostility to immigration generally.

I think it's also disputable to say that legal migration has limited opposition. There is lots of opposition to asylum seekers, refugees - particularly from Muslim countries.

If you think back to the Brexit vote, Garage was stood in front of a sign suggesting immigration meant we were at "breaking point". Nothing illegal about those people. Attitudes might have softened from 2015-16 but it's still not 'limited.

Also, at best there is confusion about the definition used when discussing immigration. Migrant/economic migrant/illegals/illegal immigrants/immigrants/refugees/asylum seekers are often used interchangeably.
Purposefully been made interchangeable so people can try and disguise their inherent racism. The UK is inherently racist, no denying it. Only got to compare the numbers of Ukraine and Afghanistan, have refugee at home schemes.

Hearing Leadson has put the boot in on dear Boris, its game on now if he survives to party conference.
Those letters and inboxes back at the constituency office have buttocks clacking.:)

….it’s all good and we’ll getting the 54 letters that force a vote of no confidence but it’s a big leap for a majority of Conservative MPs to carry that vote.

The man has no shame. I actually wonder if Labour are better off him being there.

Unfortunately I fully expect Johnson to win a no confidence vote because the majority of Tory MP’s will be too spineless to vote against him.

Cost of Living crisis... Without it he and Party gets away with Partygate, until election.

Labour probably are, but unfortunately the country isn’t.

The same problems people are facing will still be present don't think it matters now at this point who is in charge of the Tories, they have proper goosed the UK over the last 12 years, they all appear devoid of idea, all tied to ideology of free market principles now making paid work pointless for more people than ever before.

It's interesting watching the Tories gradually positioning themselves. "Is it safe and even advantageous to my career to come out against the PM or should I wait a bit till one or two big hitters jump in first?"
I see that Leadsom has dipped her toe in the water.
She's the one who said Theresa May wasn't fit to be leader because she hadn't got any kids. Nice lady.

And this is the world we live in.

Waiting on whether a small number of self serving MP’s decide it’s now right for their career to vote him out. Not because he has done a terrible job and that half the country is on its arse.

And then if they do and they decide to change leadership it’ll ultimately come down to a 150k conservative members (the majority are likely to not be feeling the impact of the cost of living crisis ) to decide the next prime minister.

If he wins a no confidence vote, they can't challenge him again for a year. Meaning that come mid 2023, when the economy is even more destroyed and voters are even more on their knees, he has to take them into a general election unless he stands down. Which then leads to a further leadership contest, and they get messy, leaving his incumbent with less than a year to get things in order.

It's a mess for them either way really.

If starmer and Raynor get done for beergate and step down, Boris could potentially be coming up against Burnham, who is one of Labours most popular figures as well.
