Unfortunately, this country won't normally vote for real change, 1945 being the exception, and that didn't last long. Saying that, anything will be better than the current shitshow.

By-elections mean sod all. No effective opposition in this country, simple as that. Even if Labour get in I am yet to see what their intentions are and suspect they want a power grab off the back of unpopularity of the current incumbents.

That's partially true, but honestly a 27 point swing in a key seat will be terrifying for this government.

Don’t dispute that possibility, but still feel voters do not like to lose face. If Labour get in, what are they offering is really my point. I am not a political animal at all, simply believe “world” events influence our economic situation far more than whoever sits in power in this country.

The Tories are partially responsible for that, though.

Had Cameron not said "get rid of the green crap" we'd have had millions more homes insulated and rather more renewable power generation than we do now, which would have translated into lower energy prices.

Beat me to it. I’ve said all along we need a strong and effective opposition and Labour have failed to provide it….

We also need strong effective government, which is the polar opposite of what's in power.
