But doesn’t represent the opposition

We'd be more likely to get it (competent government) with the opposition in power - for a start, there wouldn't be the endless cheerleading of the government and denigration of its enemies (including Tories like Ellwood). Then there is Starmer's actual experience of running something non-political (which is completely lacking from the cabinet).

I'd hope that a Johnson defeat leading to a Tory GE defeat would allow them to purge the spivs, grifters and cheats and return to some kind of rational conservatism of the kind that actually respected and valued this country, but it will be a very difficult fight.

…when Kay Burley hot foots it over to no10 in a commercial break, 54 letters to trigger the no confidence vote in Johnson looking a certainty this morning.

Confidence vote announced for this evening.

Time to get packing.
I can't see him losing the vote it needs 181 to vote against him and many of them are only there because of him.
As far as they are concerned the damage has already been done and they haven't got a leader in waiting ready to step in.
I think they will stick with him ride out the storm and as there is another two years before an election an awful lot can happen by then.

Problem is, he is a national threat as he’s more concerned about self preservation than what’s best for the country.

I wouldn't even put it past him and his cronies to have manipulated this vote of confidence to get it out of the way as they can't have another one for a year.
He will win it, the rats in the Tory party know they have two years left to feather there nest, the corrupt bastards
Then the electorate with a lib /lab government we have them out, its only going to get worse for them in the near future , he is a convenient shield from it at the moment, everybody talking about him instead of the mess they are making of this country.

So - no confidence or no moral standing? Sincerely hope he loses - as carrying on with a government primarily devoted to keeping him afloat is a distraction from pretty much everything the country needs now. Don't fancy the others - though Wallace and Tugenhadt are decent people. But any one must be better than more of this sh1te fest. Wonder who will be next.?

This.

Wouldn’t it be nice not to have a PM who actually puts the nations interests first, instead of just this constant pain and noise constantly emanating from this vile piece of 5hite.

Is the correct answer….
