I'm visiting religious people in my orbit right now, not Church England but very Christian based, they have gone literally, well something has to be done Friday Saturday, to now totally opposed to this plan from hearing Welby Sunday.
It's an important facet Church of England speaking in the Conservative spectrum and Christian faith in the UK as whole. As this type of Tory, they like to undermine widows mite with their purchased pious. You will always find a good grouping of bankers and such like in a Sunday service stuffing several £20s, in the collection, it cleanses the conscience for the work on those secret offshore tax havens. This policy will undermined this type of Tory and the imagine they want to portray.
 
The problem isn't the people paying to get in the boats, it's the people sending them and taking the money.
(We'll leave the French, for various reasons, turning a blind eye for another day.)

I'll try and explain the Australian version of turning the boats back.

Before; all the boat people, those who had paid a lot of money to traffickers and didn't actually drown by accident or design, got picked up, taken to safety, got given a refugee visa.
The Traffickers could sell this...not only will they pick you up, take you to the mainland, they'll give you refugee status.

Now; those people who have the money keep it in their pocket because they want to go to Australia, not some off shore 3rd party destination and you Don't get refugee status.
The Traffickers can't sell this - its not what the customers want.
No demand - No supply.
Very few boats, usually a few un orginised private individuals - who still get picked up, taken to safety and mostly don't drown.

There is some truth in that, but if you want to switch demand off then allow (or better yet, require) people to put in asylum claims outside of the UK. That will prevent smuggling, simply because very few people are going to fork out five figure sums to risk their lives when they can walk into an Embassy in some European capital and start the ball rolling there.

Or just let people move where they want to move.

If the Victims had embassy standard credentials they wouldn't need the Traffickers.
The Traffickers would and probably do prey on the ones with dubious credentials embassy-wise, but money to pay.
Remove the demand...a prospective trip to Rwanda with no time frame...does that = little or No supply.

"Embassy standard credentials"? You would just walk into the embassy and start the process for applying (either for asylum or some other form of economic visa).
