Indeed . A member of parliament from a legitimate mainstream political party has been murdered, it’s an extremely troubling and sad day .
This is a great forum with opinions from right across the spectrum but when a democratically elected MP, from whatever party, gets murdered while doing the nuts and bolts of their job that is meeting constituents face to face to try and help them, and some on here are rubbing their hands with glee because it is someone whose opinion they disagree with, I dispair.
I don't know this MP, I probably disagree with a lot of his political opinions, but ffs this is a truly shocking, cowardly murder.

I've not advocated anyone's murder (Well, apart from Hitler, Stalin and Mosely if such a thing is possible lol )

Citizen, have a look again at your previous posts.

Because this man had strong views re abortion, and other issues, all of which you and I disagree with, it somehow justifies, from your perspective, the murderers actions.

Sorry Paris mate, but please have a rethink here.

Absolutely awful for the family of the MP.

I am surprised things like this don’t happen more often, especially over the last 18-20 months. The gap between MPs and the average person is greater than ever, as is the tribalism amongst the nation.

Normal MPs don’t have the same security levels as the likes of the PM and their sidekicks do. Maybe this will trigger an improvement.

All of which was said after Jo Cox, cant see why it should change now all of a sudden.

I'm sorry that a lot of people find it difficult to contemplate but this man and his ilk voted with the intention of making life for the LGBT+ community (of which I'm a part), as well as mothers with unexpected pregnancies even more difficult. His vote would have had a direct, detrimental impact on our lives if his vote won, then you add his views on women coming out in the aftermath of the accusations against Harvey Weinstein in 2017 and his views on voting Remain.

I'm not happy he died but am I not sad.
