I’ll bet not many people have noticed one way or the other. We didn’t ‘fall off a cliff’ nor have we found any sunny uplands. For me it’s the fact that only our voted for government gets to make the rules and things like our foreign policy, good or bad, is not dependent on Hungary or other such countries. Tbh that and not being part of a bureaucratic and interfering entity will do for me. We are more than capable of standing on our two feet, unless of course you don’t think the next government will be up to it……
Well if it is another Tory government then I really do think this country is in real trouble.

I appreciate the answer but isn't it a fact that the likes of unelected Bank of England chiefs yield lots of power in the UK? And now we have a foreign secretary in Cameron that nobody elected?!

My kids are Irish so can study abroad as before but many English kids have less choices. And the impacts on trade across borders is a royal pain in the arse never mind hitting 3-5% of GDP! The next government will hopefully start to seal decent trade deals with the EU to reduce the barriers and narrow the economic impact to say 2-3%.

It’s still early days tbh, when did we actually leave, just three years ago, then entered Covid. Some low level progress in terms of trade has been done, but not enough. It didn’t help when Biden came in either, but such is life. The CPTPP deal, started after leaving the EU, is a step forward in opening up trade and further relations with the far east etc but doesn’t come into force until later this year. The EU by comparison has been negotiating with Mercosur for the last 23 years. Yes these things take time, but we can move much faster than having to get 27 other countries to agree on anything… just my take mind….

Brexit is done no point discussing anything any further unless we can go back on original conditions.

As for a labour government I not that impressed by then but anything is better than the current showers we have right now

I don’t care who governs the U.K., provided we can always vote them out, which you cannot do in the EU, your vote carries absolutely no weight…..

I think so too as they do not have the wit nor confidence to manage their own country. Much better to be part of a big group where you can blame someone else……
I think its the fact that their economies are all improving and we are whistling in the wind with our finger up our arse.

Its been proven that Brexit was and remains a complete disaster for this country and its not even up for dispute.

Goes back to my question about Germany and the Eurozone, which no one will answer, German economy is in the crap and the Euro zone barely any better. The U.K. is doing OK by comparison…….

Well it does as we voted to leave

How the EU works is that we vote in heads of states who we entrust to vote in our behalf in the EU.

It’s democratic just not direct

They have to undo a 14 year old catastrophe first, you know to start with a National debt that has been quadrupled and 14 years of austerity that has had a drastic effect on people's lives.

Yes I understand all that. So are you confident they can do it, or do they need Brussels to manage it for them…….
