Probably wanting to get hold of their share broker one day drill drill next day wind wind, something got to pay the Caribbean holiday retreat.

It's just simply more grifting for their friends. And when all these plots are sold off, they will be bought up by the even greedier tories who will then pass on their costs, to guess who..the customer.

More gas and oil licencing means a focus on selling such to a customer base, that means keeping the market hungry for such. Equates to the foot dragging over the net zero green revolution stuff. Keeping the wealthy fully paid up and contributing to re-election campaigns.

Whose Drax mate ?
The massive power station that gets massive subsidy for supposedly being green. It isn't, and their contract is due for renewal soon and they'll need a whole load more moolah paid for at a flat rate by every household or artificially raise the price of energy across the board. It's great 'cos it's a guaranteed win for the owners AND discredits green policy at the same time.

Edit:

Who are the largest shareholders of Drax?

Drax's largest shareholders are Invesco, Schroders plc, Blackrock and Orbis Holdings Ltd. See the Drax website here. Drax is an energy company focused on electricity generation and sales and pellet production and sales.

I think the Drax power station in East Yorks has shut now mate.

My mates, used to live adjacent to a massive forest of Birch trees, that were used for the pellets for fuel for the power station.

It was that big, you could easily have got lost in it and when we took their dogs out, we had to put them on the lead when we got near it, due to the sheer size of it.

Fairly sure it's still doing God's work mate.
Wiki states it closed in 2021. Reuters have an article April last year saying they're starting to decommission their last coal fired gen's, but going full bore on the burning biomass front, and read an article recently that stated that it's diversifying into providing biomass pellets for export.

Internal Tour Blurb:
Drax Power Station provides the most renewable power of any single location in the UK, some 14 terawatt-hours or enough electricity to power the equivalent of four million homes. To do this, Drax runs on a massive scale. We’ve got 4 operational boilers, as high as a 15-storey office block, a main chimney taller than the London Eye, and over 1,200 miles of steel tubing, enough to stretch from John O’Groats to Land’s End and back again. It’s a site etched on the local landscape since 1974 and on a tour at Drax you can see it all first-hand. Even better, our tours are free, and available throughout the year.

lol

Who's checking? By that I mean, what chance coal dust gets swept up into the biomass pellets and adds a bit of calorific content? Like the emissions scandal at VW, if no one is watching, is there any need to follow the rules?
