Whip restored to Tory MP who was suspended
Andrew Griffiths has had the Conservative whip restored, Sky News understands.

The married Burton MP was suspended from the party in July for sending up to 2,000 sexual messages to two female constituents, the Sunday Mirror reported at the time.

Retaking the Conservative whip means he will be able to vote in tonight's confidence vote.

Griffiths has confirmed to Sky News he will back the PM.

Wow. A new Tory low. Amazing.

May has been restoring the whip to an MP who had been suspended, according to the BBC just so he can vote for her.

edit: the MP in question being Andrew Griffiths, who sent nearly (correction) 2000 sex texts to two constituents of his.

The incredible lack of shame and dignity and sheer amount of desperation from the Conservatives at the moment is unbelievable.

I’m a Labour voter, always have been, but I just can’t stomach Jeremy Corbyn.

This country is an absolute shambles, atm. I don’t think there is a worthwhile party to actually vote for.

What we should be concentrating on is giving a People’s Vote, now that we know the consequences of Brexit.

Do we think if there's an election it would be worth forming a new Liberal Centre Left party, standing on a policy of remaining in the EU? Given that Labour and the Tories are both committed to Brexit they would surely garner a good number of votes. You could have the Labour MPs who don't like Corbyn (most of them), the Tory remainers (quite a few of them) and the Lib Dems. Maybe even a coalition agreement with the SNP.

No. You'd just end up with the Tories.

The harm this party has caused the country over the last 8 years should be enough for us never to see them in power again. Like the turd that doesn't flush they always linger around though.

It's funny isn't it? The Lib Dems were decimated over something as silly as tuition fees, yet you suspect nothing like as dramatic will happen here (with either party).

I don't think it was just tuition fees, it was the whole "enabling the Tories" thing.

This sums the buggers up tbh:

Oh and the hilarity of Lord 'I'm alright Jack' Sugar saying he would leave the country if Corbyn becomes Prime Minister followed by the absolute rat bag Iain Duncan Smith repeating some nonsense about us becoming Venezuela. They're absolutely shameless in promoting/preserving their own interests at the expense of everyone else.

Whilst this was going on Chuka just sat there nodding like a lap dog. True Labour stalwart.

slightly misrepresenting their self inflicted demise there

Sure, I'm over-simplifying, but I don't think they did anything even close to what the two main parties have done over Brexit (the Tories in particular), yet neither has seen their poll ratings really budge. Either people are so entrenched they won't budge for love nor money, or there's nowhere for them to decamp to. Neither is particularly positive.
