It’s genuinely insane , it’ll be about 15% of the average salary gone before you’ve bought a loaf or a pint of milk.Bloody hell, how can they expect people to pay that?

They’ll just blame people on dinghies, mick lynch , the trans lobby or some such rubbish and a large proportion will eat it up , it’s an outrage and I can’t understand why people aren’t furious .There are going to be riots this year the way things are going with this lot
They are pushing it way to far the arrogant bastards.

I have always found it best to never discuss politics with taxi drivers. Have had a few very awkward silent journeys in the past.I was in a taxi the other night and the driver was lamenting about the cost of living. We both agreed that as a people we need to get the Tories out of any power or influence for the good of the nation. This point of the conversation was as we arrived at the destination. I paid the fare and was about to get out when he said "what about Starmer though mate, you can't trust him or Labour". The Tories have done such a job in dividing people and setting us against one another, it is sickening.
To be honest, Jim, I am past caring about sensibilities. I am not enamoured with any of the political parties so not inclined to sing the praises of any side but this mess is simply too much. We have a group of crooks who are dismantling the country and pushing generations toward debt laden serfdom. To have pushed mild mannered, comfortable me to this point is quite an achievement.I have always found it best to never discuss politics with taxi drivers. There’s a Stewart Lee bit, which starts with him in a taxi and he says something like “I wasn't in the mood to have to nod along and agree with something racist, out of politeness”, and I’ve very much had this experience before, ending in a rather uncomfortable, silent, rest of the journeyI have always found it best to never discuss politics with taxi drivers. I left the U.K. couple of years ago. Never want to live there again tbh. The decline in the living standards in the last 10 years has been unreal. To be honest, Jim, I am past caring about sensibilities. I imagine that there will be many thinking along these lines.I left the U.K. couple of years ago. Never want to live there again tbh. The decline in the living standards in the last 10 years has been unreal.
So why haven’t the tories tried to fix this Pete ? In 12 years ?
Let me know when and where you're heading and I'll join you. There are going to be riots this year the way things are going with this lot

It's not so easy these days for many.I imagine that there will be many thinking along these lines.
Not sure how that would work either. Access to public health care etc will be a bit of a nightmare for them I imagine. It's not so easy these days for many.
My mother and stepfather are house hunting in France. They have the means to buy their way in (not completely sure on how that works). My stepfather voted for brexit and now wants out of the UK.
Can you believe it.
