Why would she not meet the criteria?
Daft if she doesn't,
isnt there another piece of this legislation to come out , covering different skills and sectors.?
Because the criteria are rubbish? She has a PhD, tick, but she quite possibly doesn't earn above the threshold, and possibly works independently, so doesn't have an employer to sponsor her. If I were a foreigner, I only have a masters so my education is not sufficient, and despite earning comfortably above the threshold, I freelance so don't have a sponsor, so I wouldn't qualify either. This is what happens when you have mandarins sticking their oar in. The truly laughable thing is that this is from a party that has always claimed to be about small government.
They will hit trouble with that if there isnt more to it than the bits that have come out.
Likes of some specialist stuff in construction for instance they go from job to job they dont have a set employer.

They will have to change that quite soon after bring it in , if that's the full policy.
That's the thing, you can imagine lobbying and the like resulting in various caveats and clauses for this industry or that industry, and it all becoming horribly bureaucratic and messy, which is one of the main reasons why the government butting out and leaving it as a matter between employer and employee (which is how it is with free movement) is more effective. My support for free movement isn't just because it's morally right, but it's considerably more effective as well. You can go to pretty much any country in the world with a 'managed' migration system, and employers will be crying out that they don't have the people they need.
You kinda sense it's Brexit in a microcosm, as it's signing up for a less effective outcome in return for the illusion of control.

Surely its just a headline, then as time goes by there will be the slow trickle exemptions of this immigration cap. It is noticeable that Tories are not speaking numbers.
With all due respect to Professor Tanja Beultmann - I am pretty sure her country of origin could have used her wonderfully giving nature and Phd.
Don't they have disabled and elderly people in the place she calls home? Do they not need looking after?

I suspect that having been there for over a decade, she calls Britain home.
This is basically 'go back to where you came from', this is what johnson, farage et al have brought out of the people of this country and its very ugly

From that tweet we know that eleven years ago, she had a PhD. We don't know what in. We don't know if she could speak English. We don't know if she had anything lined up, with regards to work. She basically ticked one box.
Replace PhD with a white van and a set of tools. Would anyone be complaining? Or is it because she has a PhD? She is coming across as a self-entitled educated elitist - "I have a PhD. I am better than you". I am sure many people that entered eleven years ago, have done a lot of good for this country. They didn't have a PhD though. So they don't matter? Hindsight is wonderful - She could have turned out to be a serial killer.
I am not going to even pretend I am knowledgeable with regards to what the conditions are to get into other countries? Will we be any different from most of them?

Also - Nobody said "go back to where you came from". The point was that she is no more entitled to entry into this country than anyone else that doesn't tick the boxes.

You strongly intimated it and now you're just rowing back. She didn't say she was more entitled, she merely pointed out that she would have to go under the proposed criteria. The UK would lose a good and giving citizen. Judging from your original post, we will need as many as we can get.
You are missing the argument massively if you think that is the case, as for your serial killer line....
