The brits in France who do not bother to learn French think that those who do (like me) are idiots.Idiots? Sarcastique?
What an abhorrent post. With all due respect to Professor Tanja Beultmann - I am pretty sure her country of origin could have used her wonderfully giving nature and Phd.
Don't they have disabled and elderly people in the place she calls home? Do they not need looking after?
"I'm a professor, and an all round good egg. I should get to do what I want".
What an abhorrent post.
I’d hope so given your posts content to be fair. RegressiveWhat a typical reaction.
You strongly intimated it and now you're just rowing back. She didn't say she was more entitled, she merely pointed out that she would have to go under the proposed criteria. The UK would lose a good and giving citizen. Judging from your original post, we will need as many as we can get.
You are missing the argument massively if you think that is the case, as for your serial killer line....
I’d hope so given your posts content to be fair. Regressive
How many countries are there in the EU?Not at all mate. It might have come across as harsh, but it is not regressive. If this woman had come to this country eleven years ago, with a PhD, a job to go to, and could speak the language, then by all means - Welcome to the UK! As it stands, we only know she had a PhD. I do not believe this is enough to gain entry into any country.
I interpreted that to mean "go back to where you came from"..... sad and disgusting.I genuinely don’t know what’s happening to my country , “don’t they need people like you where you come from “ put forward and seen as a reasonable argument by the person who put it forward in 2020 . More than anything it’s sad
Sad but I see what you mean now!!The brits in France who do not bother to learn French think that those who do (like me) are idiots.
Your post makes no sense. She has to go because she's "waving a PhD in someone's face" and on the day she arrived others who came "didn't turn out to be so good and giving"No she didn't say she was more entitled, but she implied it - she went on Twitter basically saying "look at what you would have missed out on" - well that's how I read it anyway.
Why shouldn't she have to go under the proposed criteria - Like everybody else? I'm sorry - waving a PhD in someone's face isn't a passport to the world.
Is this woman being deported? If not, I am not sure how the UK would lose a good and giving citizen. Or are we saying that if the proposed criteria had been in place eleven years ago, we would have missed out on a good one? Yep we would have, but as mentioned in a previous post - Hindsight is great. I wonder how many entered the country that day, that didn't turn out to be so good and giving. I would say this is why the criteria is being brought in.
As for your last sentence - You don't know me. I have a different opinion with regards to immigration. It doesn't make me a bad person. It also doesn't make you a good one.
I genuinely don’t know what’s happening to my country , “don’t they need people like you where you come from “ put forward and seen as a reasonable argument by the person who put it forward in 2020 . More than anything it’s sad
