Current Affairs The "another stabbing in London" thread

Unfortunately Bruce, what happens in London then seems to be followed and copied across the U.K. What is happening in London is sick, and even worse I don’t think you believe or accept that you even have a problem. You make excuses for it. Of course it’s not all Londoners, just as it’s not all scousers for the various scumbags located there. But until the ‘normal’ people start to be properly outraged and demand change then nothing will happen. Allowing routine stabbings to become the norm or even acceptable is sick.....

That assumes I have the first clue about what is behind things Pete. I lack sufficient hubris to think I know more than those intimately involved in such matters, so who the heck am I to demand anything?

What’s behind it is irrelevant in demanding that it is stopped. What’s behind it is key to understanding how to stop it. But first there has to be sufficient outrage to get the politicians, police, social services to actually address the issue. There will be no simple solution, it will be a mixture, and it will take years. But unless the determination to eradicate it is fully formed in the minds of everyone, then it will become acceptable, and kids will continue to die...

Ah, so a bit of popular discontent is all it takes. Will you let Mr Barnier know or shall I?

There is austerity,
Dear Pete, Dear Pete,
austerity,
Dear Pete.
AUSTERITY

Akala is ace, what i'd give to be as articulate and knowledgeable as him.

Been a fan of his for years. Society and class through history is the biggest cause rather than the problem at face value. These problems aren't new, they're repackaged and pushed into whatever the narrative at the time which have knock on effects.

As for this knife epidemic he's made a point on twitter that knife crime has been reduced in Scotland. This had nothing to do with police numbers but changes to help communities.

Problem is...this government won't work on either.

Also...if you can find the video of him on a BBC panel blitzing Tommy Robinson, it's well worth a watch
