Violent criminals and gang leaders should have council houses taken away from their families to deter them from crime, a minister has said.

Victoria Atkins, a minister in the Home Office, says hardened criminals who are blighting communities should lose their homes so that they "understand the consequences" of their actions.

Because I usually am I Might be wrong but i’m pretty sure that’s not new , certainly from a ‘up north ‘ point of view . I think they tried , and succeeded, in evicting families in Liverpool because of the behaviour of family members. I’ve genuinely no idea what happened long term whether they did it again or if the people appealed or not but I’m almost certain a few families got evicted in the early 2000’s in Liverpool.

From yesterday;

LONDON'S bloodbath continued today as it emerged two men were stabbed after a fight broke out at an address in Hammersmith this afternoon.

A Met Police spokesman said: "A 37-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were found suffering stab injuries. Both have been taken by ambulance to hospital.

"We await an assessment of the 37-year-old’s condition; the younger man has sustained injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing.

"CID officers based at Hammersmith & Fulham are investigating.

"There has been no arrest at this stage."

The double stabbing brings the number of attacks in London up to three in just 24 hours.

A 15-year-old was stabbed to death in Romford in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, London has been rocked by violence this weekend after a man was found dead outside Greenford underground station in west London on Saturday morning.

Just a few miles away, police were called to reports of a stabbing in South Harrow, northwest London.

A woman in her 50s was found stabbed to death in her back garden in Greenwich on Saturday morning.
