So are you saying @Spotty that you think the UK should remove all its gun control laws?
No I'm not. I'm saying that introducing stricter gun laws will make it harder for the " wrong " people to be able to get access to guns. It will not stop the crazy deluded person intent on killing as many people as they can in one incident from carrying out their wish. It just won't. I'm all for reducing the amount of weapons though. I'm not American, I'm British and live here but it's just my view. Hasn't gone down well on here and I'm obviously in the minority. I will close by saying this. I do WISH gun control would work, I really do.

"On February 8, 1864, Sumner submitted a constitutional amendment stating: All persons are equal before the law, so that no person can hold another as a slave; and the Congress shall have power to make all laws necessary and proper to carry this declaration into effect everywhere in the United States."

Yeh, but cannot deny peoples dated rights to bare arms.......such a sh** argument

Outdates "rights" are there to be amended, hence the name amendment!
Noisy, are you saying that if the US introduced tighter / stricter gun rules and laws, it would stop mass shootings. ?

so you're ok with gun control in the UK but not the USA?

What if the right to bugger dogs was part of the ammendment? Would you still cry about it being changed? Because itis equally as absurd as the right to bare arms is in 2022.
The Americans take the second Amendment very very seriously. I mean ultra seriously. Nothing will change that.

Some don't make the news is an understatement. I think the definition is like 4 or 5 wounded. There are probably a dozen of those in some cities alone per year. The vast majority aren't national news. Those that are young, black males especially aren't making it.

Yes. It’s really bad in some cities. Also keep in mind this only reflects the “mass,” shootings so 4 or more involved as you say. If you look at totals where there are fewer victims, the picture is much worse.

so you're ok with gun control in the UK but not the USA?
No, I was asked if I would loosen gun controls in the UK. I said no. I am saying introducing them anywhere won't stop mass killings. Subjective of course but it's my view as a Brit, that it's the person with a gun who divides to kill lots of people. They could choose a crossbow, a knife, axe etc etc, if they want to do it they will. People on London bridge were knifed to death recently. Shall we ban knives ? By the common held view on here then their logic is remove them from society and it won't happen. The problem is, we ALL know it won't.

Your argument seems to rest upon the spotty logic that conflates eliminating the possibility with eliminating the probability. Perchance, are you the sort who believes the covid vaccines "didn't work" since they were only ~85% effective or so?

But it’s been changed before, that’s why it’s so absurd to hear people not understanding how amendments can work
Are you honestly pretending it wouldn’t?
No pretending at all. I'm saying 100% that I'm right. Gun control will not stop mass shootings. Your turn. Are you saying they will, by removing en mass people's rights to carry arms it will end mass killing ? How confident are you ? 100% sure.
