oh man, I'm lost here.
so you do think tighter gun laws will reduce mass shootings but we shouldn't pass them because you don't think they'll totally stop mass shootings?
Your doing it again. Where am I saying " tighter gun laws will reduce mass shootings " I'm not, never have. I want stricter gun controls because having less guns on the street is going to be better, and will make the street safer. Here's the part your not getting and there is a difference. I'm saying for upteenth time, gun control is not going to stop mass shootings. It just isn't.

Is that clear enough for you ?

No pretending at all. I'm saying 100% that I'm right. Gun control will not stop mass shootings. Your turn. Are you saying they will, by removing en mass people's rights to carry arms it will end mass killing ? How confident are you ? 100% sure.
The purpose of gun control isn't to stop 100% of mass shootings. NOTHING will do that.

It's to improve things from they way they are now. And I think most civilized people in the US will agree that common sense gun laws would change things for the better.

Us civilized people are aware that the the 2nd Amendment is so misunderstood by the unwashed indoctrinated alternate reality masses that to do something with it entirely would cause a Civil War, so we're not advocating for that even though we should.

So it's common sense gun laws then. You know, like making the age to buy a gun the same age as one can get a six pack of beer. Or keep assault rifles out of the hands of general citizens. Or background checks. Etc

nobody is saying it is.
so you are for gun control and you think it will reduce mass shootings and you've just wasted everyones afternoon/evening

will it reduce shootings, simple question
You've never asked her in our chat. Now we are getting somewhere. " will it reduce shootings " yes of course, logic dictates less guns, less shootings. Right, here's the part you and some others don't seem to get. I'm saying gun control and by definition, less guns does not mean mass shootings will stop. They won't.

Respectfully, is that clear enough for you ?

Your first sentence is all I've been saying. People seem to think that I am. I'm not. The mass shootings will continue even with very wide ranging laws coming into force.

well, apart from the "you've never asked her in our chat"bit??
otherwise, yea, everyone here is in complete agreement with you and think reasonable gun laws will reduce mass shootings.

My arguments are logical. I have said clearly gun control will not stop shootings. Tell me, where is the lack of logic in that ? Just because it doesn't conform to what the majority are saying on here, doesn't make what I'm saying is wrong. Do I want stricter gun controls, yes. Will they stop mass shootings. No. THAT enough logic for you ?
Why won’t stricter gun controls reduce mass shootings? I look forward to your answer

Whether or not there is an abundance of guns is NOT the significant factor. Loads of gun availability or limited gun availability, matters not regarding mass shootings. The one and only factor is whether or not someone is determined to gun down innocent people. He / she will do it regardless if there are millions of guns or minimal amounts.

To those proponents of gun control, please answer me this HONESTLY. If someone is 100% determined to gun down as many people as they can, do you think more stringent gun control measures will put him / her off ? It surely is a rhetorical question. Of course it won't stop them. Period. The stark harsh truth is we as a society is NEVER going to be able to stop a determined person. We just aren't. Make it harder for them, yes. But not stop.

I'm a billion percent believer in the " it's not guns, it's people who kill people. I just can't see the arguments for gun control.
It'll make it more difficult you buffoon. When was the last time someone went on a rampage with an Browning M2 machine gun? Oh, sorry, they're banned...

There is no ideal, perfect solution; there isn't a silver-bullet (every pun intended). Nevertheless, maintaining the status quo is morally wrong on every level.

Look at the legislation here in the UK and elsewhere and ask yourself if gun control doesn't work compared to lax or non-existent gun control.

Literally no one has said they will.

I guess the simple follow up question would be, because I'm not sure from your rants

Are less mass shootings a good thing? Yes or No

Yes, but it will reduce them which what everyone wants
So, logic takes over here, impose stricter gun laws

Winner

Thats the third time " you think it will reduce mass shootings " that you wrongly attributed to something I've supposed to have said. I clearly haven't. We are allowed to disagree, we are allowed to agree and just because I've disagreed - or in your views I have - I'd like to think I've not wasted everyone's afternoon.

This is why i asked my follow up question

you have seemingly agreed that less guns means less mass shootings, but still are making the bizarre argument that they won't stop all mass shootings, therefore implying there's nothing that can be done.

So the simple question is whether or not a civilized society should to what it can to reduce mass shootings?
