How does something "concealed" constitute a "clear" threat?

Because he's ignored instruction and is reaching for something out of sight. If his intentions are certainly safe, he wouldn't be ignoring instructions, especially with a gun aimed at him.

Look at that scenario and tell me what he's more likely to be reaching for - a gun or a dropped chocolate bar ffs.

Once he ignores instructions and reaches into a concealed area, he's a clear threat.

For every time a gun in the home was used in a self-defense or legally justifiable shooting, there were four unintentional shootings, seven criminal assaults or homicides, and 11 attempted or completed suicides.

Conclusions: Guns kept in homes are more likely to be involved in a fatal or nonfatal accidental shooting, criminal assault, or suicide attempt than to be used to injure or kill in self-defense.

Of course.

I'd still have one and be trigger happy if felt threatened

"Before resorting to gunfire, the police attempted to subdue Blake with a Taser, to no avail, it was reported"

If I lived in USA I'd own a gun.

If someone broke into my house I'd shoot them without hesitation - anticipating the likelihood they'd have a gun.

Guns are bad. Mmm'kay.

the crazy thing is that is what Breonna Taylor's other half thought too, and when he did it cops shot her dead

they then nicked him, and probably would have put him through a trial as well if the outrage hadnt become too hot to deal with

I cannot agree with your reasoning. But I will review again once I have seen the incident in question. What page is it on?

Rife gun culture will make people trigger happy.

If the police tried to taser him, made repetitive vocal commands and he ignores them and goes to reach go a concealed item - what else can the police do? They tried to grab him before shooting. Do they need to wait until they see a gun pointed at them?

Maybe they should have dived on him much earlier before he got to the car door but even that's tricky

Not shoot him multiple times in the back pre-emptively, for a start. Even if he was going to get a gun, he could well have been perfectly entitled to have one.

We can talk about self defence and the right to bear arms in the US all day long, but what people should ask themselves is whether any civilian would get a pass if the shot someone under similar circumstances to this.

So even if he was going to get a gun the police shouldn't have shot him?

Supposedly the involved male was carrying a knife and was ordered to drop the knife multiple times that was caught on video. There is a possibility that the officers did not realize that kids were present especially if there was a solid window tint. I really feel terrible for the young kids no matter how events unfold.

Supposedly there was an active arrest warrant. He initially intervened in a domestic between both female parties that he knew from a prior contact where a firearm was involved. Officers arrived at the domestic call, realized he had a warrant then the situation escalated.

Also a prior history/arrest for fighting with the police and pulling a gun on someone at a bar.

I was not there but the officers tactics should be examined. Rule 1. Never let a suspect re enter a vehicle. All of the officers should not have been bunched up like that. No one blocked his path to the vehicle.

The country will burn again as media sensationalism and instant judgement without facts rears it’s head

Why did the police not search the car first or at least see if there were any occupants or firearms.?
Surely seeing the children would have deescalated the situation.
They then followed him to the car guns raised not knowing if he was going for an ID or something else.
Hope the truth comes out quickly.
Sickening to watch.

Yep, no matter the circumstances, no kids should go through the trauma of watching a parent die in front of them
