The videos of the shootings and killings in Kenosha, by a teenage member of an armed militia patrolling the streets, are absolutely nuts.

If you have dozens of civilians walking around the streets armed with assault rifles, intent on doing the Police's job, people are going to die.

Thank Chris we don't have the same gun issue here. All of those "statue defenders" turning up to Westminster with AK47s, it doesn't bear thinking about.

Apparently he said shush , no Problem

watched part of the RNC on Monday night and still cant get the speech by the father of the girl killed in parkland out of my head. The poor man, obviously wouldn't wish that on anyone. But after all that he stood on the national stage and didn't call for one single reform to gun legislation.
I can't see myself ever coming around to his position and I can't see him ever changing.
America seems to be gridlocked and broken and gun ownership seems to be at the heart of everything.

I really wish they could protest without the rioting and looting. Maybe they wouldn't get any attention but it's just fuel for the right wing nutjobs and incentive for them to turn out and vote Trumpy boy back in. My facebook feed at the moment is depressing.

it should of course be pointed out that there were right wing nutjobs actively encouraging rioting and looting in the first wave of these protests

How about that cop knew what he was doing and what would happen in Kenosha and did it to try and make the state red.

even now I'd be amazed if that was the case, but if it was and he's found guilty then does Wisconsin have the death penalty? if so its hard to think of a more deserving example

paralyzed from the waist down because some idiot cop with 2 months training over reacted.

Alternatively...

Idiot paralysed from the waist down for not complying with armed Police.

If he had reached into the car, pulled out a gun and shot the police it wouldn't have made the worldwide news.

so you think the cop was right in what he did?

No but I also don't think he was wrong?

They are taught to shoot when they feel they are in imminent danger - he had already been tasered, fought with police and resisted arrest, has a criminal record for pulling his gun on people, so as far as I'm concerned he was right to shoot, just 7 times in the back is a tad brutal.

A tad?
It takes six weeks to train to be an armed policeman in this country.
This guy shot a man seven times in the back in front of his kids.
The whole system is broken, no black person wants to get taken in to custody because they wont be treated like white people. So you end up with people resisting arrest due to a warranted fear of not being treated fairly and when they resist, the cops have no idea how to de-escalate the situation and it spirals quickly till one cop does something really stupid. Then the force and the police union close rank around the bad cop and fight tooth and nail to protect him.
This causes the division to deepen.
This is all happening because of racism in police forces and crazy gun laws.
Look at how the cops treated the white vigilante who killed two people.
