I really don't get the two arguments against changing the laws. You go on Facebok (fn vile these days) and you see people 'lol liberul tears' as if it's some kind of a [Poor language removed] joke that 17 people died. You see peolpe saying "we need to enforce the laws better and have better mental health help in this country!". Two problems with that: Trump's 'budget' will drastically slash money allocated to assist with mental health issues. Other problem is 'if they aren't enforcing the law' then the law needs to change. Do they not see this at all?
China has, what, 1.7 billion people? India has 1.3ish? YOu NEVER hear about mass shootings over there. They have access to the same 'video games' we do, they have a lot that live in absolute abject poverty that would typically think would make someone commit crimes like these. I mean, there's got to be SOME kind of difference between there and the States, no? Maybe they have severe restrictions on something taht the US doesn't?
