Realistically, nothing will be done. Republicans will point at mental health and do nothing about that either and we'll be back talking about this in a couple of weeks in the aftermath of the next massacre. It's sad, but there's more likelihood of the Union collapsing then there ever being any movement on this issue. I feel sorry for anyone who actually has to live over there and bang their heads against this particular brick wall every few weeks, but school massacres are as American as Apple Pie now.

Exactly. They have started that already even Trump said he would "make it a priority". Which we know means do nothing.
Mental health discussions and subsequent treatment has taken years and it is not easy to combat.
Sure little has been done to tackle PTSD and mental health issues in general in the military. They are slowly getting better at helping but a lot of it is outside resources and charities pumping time and effort and cash to help.
They know it costs a lot of money and a lot of time of effort and they will not want to spend it. They will talk a big game as always and then do nothing.
