There’s no real evidence because it’s not the reality of the situation. You can’t know what would or wouldn’t happen under different rules. It’s all conjecture. So learn to play the game as it stands better until if/when the rules do change.
No. With all due respect, I won't simply accept that I have to play the game better. I've argued for decades about the inherently undemocratic nature of the EC and the Founder's dislike of the system and will not be told that I have to accept it. That's not a shot at you, specifically. It's my position with anyone who argues the position you are taking. Defending the EC is the equivalent of telling someone they have to accept second-class status or that someone is granted preferential status based solely on where they live and I'm not going to do it. I hope you will join me.

Meanwhile, despite the inherent unfairness of the system that skews the EC to the Republican Party, if things hold in coming days the Democratic Party will have won the popular vote in 7 of the last 8 elections and captured the Presidency in 5 of 8. Despite the unfairness that I will argue is massively contributing to ripping the country apart, the success record of the Democratic Party is rather impressive.

Think you’re misunderstanding. I’m not defending the legitimacy of the EC. I’m saying that until a time when it changes, pointing to the popular vote as a true identifier is not fully valid. You’re perfectly entitled to challenge the rules. I think they need to be re-considered as well. I’m just pointing out that the results will change if you change the dynamic. Maybe better for Dems maybe not.

FYI I’m very grateful today that Nebraksa does it they way they do. I have a decent amount of family in Omaha and that one vote might yet tip the scales.

The worst of all worlds this. Even a Trump outright win would have been better.

Biden will be frozen in power and incapable of doing anything. The divide will be even more bitter than it was, with people accusing the Dems of stealing the election, no matter how stupid that claim is.
