I disagree - if the Senate is close then Biden can do bipartisan things, and without Trump in the WH there isn't as much of a threat to GOP Senators.

There is also unlikely to be anything really politically contentious (like an SCOTUS seat) coming up, so Turtle Man will have to either block everything (which he probably doesn't have the numbers to do) or pass things. That is also if he doesn't die soon, which given that his hands already look like they've started that process is also a possibility.
It's basically his defining feature - a deal maker.

Polls were drastically wrong on the senate also. No one in here mention polls to me ever again. Got slammed with polls since the primaries that I didn’t agree with for good reason.

Can someone enlighten me on what happens if, whoever wins, and dies before the inauguration in Jan, does the VP/running mate automatically become president?

With Biden's age, I would think there's a high chance that Harris becomes the first Female President over the next 4 years....not Biden dieing, but stepping aside due to illness of some sort..

forget who said it on Twitter (or possibly here) but whoever said that polling firms should stop doing nationals and focus on 2-3 states (but do them better and learn the ground more) was speaking an awful lot of sense

Nevada + Arizona + Michigan...then Biden doesn't need Pennsylvania.

CNN saying the Dems will carry Nevada are up and favourites to carry Arizona given the maths left there.

The VP can also serve as an important additional advisor if the President wants. I think that is how Biden and Obama were. I doubt Pence has much of a say which is fine too if that is what the President wants.
Biden and Obama weren't as close as the left-wing media pretends they were/are. Obama pressured him stand aside for Hilary 4 years ago and only turned up to campaign this time less than a week before the election. Joe was only a means to end for him, a VP who could win him a sizeable portion of the middle-class white vote. Shrewd pick to be fair.

I'm not even saying they were close but there is documented instances of Biden offering his opinion and Obama considering his advice. I don't think they do that in the current White House.
