Current Affairs The 2020 United States Presidential Election

Nearly every Election Day since 1984 I’ve worked with Republican poll watchers, observers and lawyers to record and litigate any fraud or election irregularities discovered. The truth is that over all those years Republicans found only isolated incidents of fraud. Proof of systematic fraud has become the Loch Ness Monster of the Republican Party. People have spent a lot of time looking for it, but it doesn’t exist. As he confronts losing, Trump has devoted his campaign and the Republican Party to this myth of voter fraud. Absent being able to articulate a cogent plan for a second term or find an attack against Joe Biden that will stick, disenfranchising enough voters has become key to his reelection strategy.

Perhaps this was the plan all along. The president’s unsubstantiated talk about “rigged” elections caused by absentee ballot “fraud” and “cheating” has been around since 2016; it’s just increased in recent weeks.Trump has enlisted a compliant Republican Party in this shameful effort. The Trump campaign and Republican entities engaged in more than 40 voting and ballot court cases around the country this year. In exactly none — zero — are they trying to make it easier for citizens to vote. In many, they are seeking to erect barriers.

Might just be me then but literally nothing has changed in my life having lived under Blair, Bush, Obama, Brown, Cameron, Bojo Trump etc.

And I can guarantee nothing will change for me when Starmer gets into downing street next election either.

Modern politics is a way for people to still feel like they have some control/influence on things when in reality us plebs will always be plebs regardless of which rich bloke is in power.
Nonsense. You might not have noticed changes, but that says more about you than it does democracy.

Despite switching off from American politics I am looking forward to the result of this.

Seems Americans are still putting too much stock on who is more popular as a candidate , or better yet it could be a cardboard box and they would be overwhelming favourite.

Biden will win , the young vote will swing it this time around no doubt. But brace yourself for 4 more years of trump as well, because clearly he will have support far more than America believe themselves.
What on Earth does this rambling word salad even mean?

CBS news republican surge model basically says that if Trump voters vote it's a done deal. And by the looks of it...rallies, caravans...they will. Gonna be a bumpy ride fellers hold on tight.
Red wave incoming.

lol

Sorry I forgot to put the obligatory I hate trump line for the post to be accepted on the internet.

Biden will most probably win but don't rule out trump because apparantly the world has forgotten people do vote for him and don't tell people they do.

They're not in the same league, and should barely exist in the same sentence as each other. Trump inhabits a whole planet of crapness that Biden couldn't see with a telescope

says something when the best option is a bloke that can’t get through a sentence (not that Trump can either).

Just to challenge you a little on this mate but every indicator is that turnout has gone up massively (potentially on all sides). So just winning the votes he got in 2016 will almost certainly not be enough.

On the 2nd point, the rallies are nowhere near as big, or numerous as 2016 are they? I appreciate there are a lot of other factors but that also seems unnavoidable.

That's absolutely not what I meant at all. Do you ever read back what you type? For example, I have no idea what the following means;

'Biden will win , the young vote will swing it this time around no doubt. But brace yourself for 4 more years of trump as well, because clearly he will have support far more than America believe themselves'

I mean, 'Biden will win, but brace yourself for 4 more years of Trump as well' - are they going to share the Presidency? And the second part in bold doesn't make sense, it's just random words thrown together.
