One thing I will say about tonight's result: If that's the price we have to pay in order to beat the RS at the weekend, I'm ok with that.
Because I genuinely haven't. I was a massive Evertonian up until about 1992...and then the career/travel, marriage, kids thing came along and I only really kept peripheral interest in Everton fortunes. I only really got seriously back into watching Everton in 2012/13 when life allowed me a LOT more time. So, that is why I was so excited to finally see the club legend Hibbo, play. And, I am sorry to say, I did not think he was all that. Coleman for me, all day long
Anyone else have a sense that our Spanish Shepard couldn't give a flock about the league cup!

That's what I saw. So because he's a local lad loyally earning thousands of pounds a week for over a decade at Everton, he's a legend in some people's eyes? Not having that. Bugger loyalty, it's Coleman for me all day long.He is a bit of a legend because he has been with the club his whole career, and seems a good lad so most wished him well and liked when he did well.
He was and is a very very limited footballer, with some okay defensive skills. He probably shouldn't have managed to have had a career at Everton, but he did!
Can't have Mcgeady and Mirallas in the same team. Neither do enough defensive work.Team for the weekend
Howard
Baines - Stones - Jagielka - Coleman
Barry - McCarthy
Mirallas Naismith McGeady/Lukaku (?)
Eto'o
So the only people I can see from this match starting are Howard and (maybe McGeady). Perhaps Garbutt as a reward for his performance
It was the fringe players tongiht
