I know it's clutching at straws but at least there is no doubt over our best back 4.
I could be wrong but i think Coleman, Stones, Jags and Baines only played together for the WBA game and 89 minutes of the Wolfsburg game, conceding no goals. I'd imagine the team for the derby will be Howard...Coleman, Stones, Jags, Baines....McCarthy, Barry...Mirallas, Naismith, Lukaku....Eto'o. Play like we did in the first half against Wolfsburg and we'll be ok.
I agree with Lukaku starting on the wing

Reluctantly, I have to agree with your 'Hibbo's past it' assessment. I say reluctantly, because I was so excited to finally get an opportunity to see what all the hype over Hibbo (on this site) was all about. To many, he is a Blues legend, up there with Alan Ball, Sharpie, Sheedy et al. I must confess, after that game tonight, I cannot fathom how he has attained that status for so many here on GOT. Perhaps I am being unfair and he was dynamic in his earlier playing days. But, and this will REALLY upset some people, I consider Coleman a better RB.

Hibbo was a regular 3 years ago, why are you acting like he's someone you've never seen before?

Agreed. Neville was rightly blasted for his stupid 'top ten is great for Everton' comment. Roberto has spoken in the past about winning leagues and bringing success back, and then says that absolute garbage post match tonight. The fans rightly praise the side when they are giving their all, at the moment they look lethargic and uninterested. Very worried tbh.
What exactly did he say?

It's only league cup, our 2nd 11 out there but I'm still worried for what this season holds, had my hopes up for this season but 2 spankings next 2 games and its over, and with our defence that could well happen.

My only worry is our first eleven are leaking goals so we start our second eleven and they keep up the status Quo. Not one of our defenders must have any confidence at the moment, that is a worry for me. Especially as its the derby this week and we always lose at Anfield.

I just have a horrible feeling a dry bumming is coming our way...

The bad times is the usual bottle job against liverpool

The bad times are just missing out on the top 4/ cup semi through a cock up against a bottom half side who haven't beaten anyone but you

This is something else, shipping 2-3 goals EVERY match it's a shambles.

People say "as long as we have coleman at RB and stones at CB we'll be sound" what happens if one gets a bad injury? We would be knackered! Should never have gotten to this point

Except it's not. Its 7 games into the season. A moment in time.

You seem to be basing your worry about an injury on the premise that none of our poorly playing defenders at the moment will get better?

I'd say its bloody unlikely that our centrebacks will not improve. Theyll need replacing soon enough but they will improve.

Distin and Jags and Howard have always always always had stupid errors and decision making in them, its just now that we have hit the "everything that can go wrong, is going wrong" moment. It sucks, but I'd be surprised if it's the norm.

Same as when we had the third best defence league last season I didn't think we were that great, so when we are this bad just now I am not going to assume this is it for the season.

Football changes very quickly. An early goal to us on Saturday and confidence could make a huge difference to those under pressure defenders.

Because I genuinely haven't. I was a massive Evertonian up until about 1992...and then the career/travel, marriage, kids thing came along and I only really kept peripheral interest in Everton fortunes. I only really got seriously back into watching Everton in 2012/13 when life allowed me a LOT more time. So, that is why I was so excited to finally see the club legend Hibbo, play. And, I am sorry to say, I did not think he was all that. Coleman for me, all day long
