Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

What I was told before he was appointed was that there were discussions about him moving upstairs and bringing a younger coach through like Baines or Coleman. I've no idea if that is still the plan.
That's a terrifying prospect tbh, Coleman has zero experience and Baines has mixed experience at u18 level and being a member of the first team coaching setup since Moyes arrived but he is still a relative novice. Can't see TFG going for that tbh.

"Since I came over from Ireland as a young boy, I have loved this club. Today is the proudest day of my life, becoming manager of this great football club. The Chairman, God rest his soul, was so good to me and my family. And the manager, and he'll always be the manager, has always been like a father to me. If I have half the success that he has had at this club, we'll finish 17th and go out the cups at the first time of asking."

You wouldn't think so tbh, but that's what I was told. i suppose the general principle would still hold for an external young coach.

If you didn't know better, you would think Baines was just part of the seating. We complain about our bench not being used, he doesn't even get the chance to blink his eyelids..

I got the impression, where from I don't know...

That TGF had a name in mind but he wasn't available right then in Jan 2025.
Moyeses appointment was initially a 6mts thing
But with essentially nobody else in the frame, he was able to parley it up to 18mts with a 12 month option, aka, pay out, I'm 65 and it's offski time for me, thank you and goodnight.

Not that I know, but right now I'd be guessing he's quite happy with that deal.

Nor have I any idea (no change there then) who our unavailable mystery man was - or if he'd do any good.

As always with our American annual dividend taking(allegedly) ownership group - more questions than answers

The single most pertinent question is: do you give Moyes another £100m in the summer to shape the future of this club when he has only 12 months left on his contract and will only care about what players do in that 12 month period?

I feel like the answer is obviously not.
Moyes doesn’t buy players, this old school thinking needs to stop
