I wouldn't be against DCL starting up top to stretch Arsenal.

That gives Richarlison the freedom and space on that left flank. I think DCL could run Mustafi and Sokratis and then we have Richarlison and Walcott pushing up.

Bernard on the bench to come on.

you want to play DCL as a lone striker because he can run?

might as well have signed bolt if that's what we're looking for

DCL is a better striker than winger.

He can stretch teams because he is quick.

I'd rather have him doing that than Richarlison, who has played as a striker against El Salvador, with Neymar, Coutinho and the like in support.

DCL's best game for us remains that away performance at the Etihad last season. Let him do what he's good at and stretch an Arsenal defence that can be got at. Running them creates the space for Richarlison, Walcott, Bernard/Gylfi to fill. That's the point.

he is a better striker than a winger, but that's not much of a compliment because he is a truly woeful winger, like not even a championship standard winger

he is quick, but so are richarlison and Walcott so we already have that pace upfront anyway, he did have a good game against city to be fair, but when were saying he had 1 good game as a striker that was 12 months ago, in which he didn't score, we didn't win, and we played against 10 min for a goof 50 minutes it says it all about his quality

I remember the Southampton game last year when they smashed us I'd say it's one of the worst every CF performances ive ever seen from a striker. so could go either way

I agree with the first point, but I don't want Richarlison to be tasked with running the line.

DCL drifts wide from a central position, and Richarlison/Walcott have the pace to push up and join the attack, with Gylfi as well.

Bernard is then an option from the bench.

disagree, he gave the ball away at least a dozen times yesterday, he's not good enough

...he did, Matey. The point I’m making, though, is whether he’s more effective for the ‘out ball’, and whether it sticks or not. Virtually everything played into Tosun yesterday came straight back (including their first goal). I just think DCL has more bulk and height to at least hold the ball, be combative and get the odd free kick.

I don't think many want richarlison going centrally because how good he started on the wing, but needs must, he can finish and was playing well and all 3 of our strikers aren't good enough ( could argue with Tosun who I still think is decent just needs a goal ) but moving richarlison makes room for Bernard who's to good to be on the bench

We'll see mate.

I don't think Tosun should start as he's woefully out of form but Silva may think that he can play in a similar way to Wolves which gives us a focal point to work from.

Crazy thought here. But maybe tosun will start scoring more when he has 2 brazilian internationals either side of him/behind him and a Portuguese European championship winner playing the balls from the midfield?

The problem is mate that when he has been getting into goal scoring positions he's either ballooning it over, or hitting it right at the keeper, having those players around him isn't going to make his finishing any better.

I mean we may as well drop a steaming pile of dog turd and leave that there as a focal point, it'd have pretty much the same impact as Tosun up front.

Against Wolves and Southampton he was very good at that. His hold up play was decent and he looked to stretch the defence.

Since then he's been dire, like.

Send this to Silva we need one in January -
