Thanks Neiler for that clarification. Essentially it means that Everton will most likely never be taken over unless the 3 main shareholders agree to sell.

Because it is a privet company we will never know the true and full share ownership.

The only decent thing I can think of which Billy Liar has done is employ Moyes, that's it. He knows that Moyes is working wonders on the pitch therefore glossing over all the [Poor language removed] that he's put this club through.
Imagine if he'd chosen someone else to take charge and we were still relagation fodder. THEN I think his antics would've been exposed earlier cos let's face it, if the team(under the guidance of Moyes) had'nt had performed so well over the last 4/5 seasons he'd've been found out by all by now not just the seemingly minority
I still try not to engage in conversation/argue with bellends that still think he's great 'cos he's a proper Blue' and think DK is the answer to all our prayers

RJ,

If Bill as Chairman is made an offer for shareholding he brings it to the board who would either reject or accept it and recomend it to other shareholders - however thats a bit simplistic really.

Technicaly Bill could sell his shareholding to a billionaire - and the others could decide to stay put praticularly if an investor is going to invest in the club which will see the share price soar.

On the other hand the other Woods and Earl could sell and Bill could be a minority shareholder. The question for me to be put to Bill at an AGM is not are you willing to sell, but what are theintentions of the other major shareholders.

A large part of why we havnt been sold yet, is that it is far more difficult to own all the shares in Everton (thus 100% control) compared to other clubs - that we scratch our heads at being taken over before us - their share holding is less diverse - and a buyer can easier aquire 100 % of the shares. The cat and mouse games going on at Arsenal for the last three years is something similar, with the russian guy and american hoovering small shareholding after small shareholding (at a massive preimium).

As above you can see the shareholding is wide and vaired even if the big three decided to sell in tandem - the buyer wouldnt be buying the whole of Everton considering there are over 200 shareholders. As mentioned above it sometimes cheaper to buy shares in bulk then individually, Bill may wand 1500 per his shares, Jimmy down the street or Granchester may want 3000 per there share/s.

Thats my opinion anyway on why the club hasnt been taken over - the stadium etc just futher complicates the matter.

So to sumerise no one person can sell the club they can only sell their individual shareholding.

Out of interest, how old are you?

What's my age got to do with anything though?

Because if I know how old the person is then I can understand more about that person and why they posted as such.

For example an 18 year old like Cal or that other lad who got banned, moaning about how [Poor language removed] it is to be an Evertonian. Well this at the moment is as good as it has ever been.

But for someone who is like you and me 33, give or take 10 years will know how it feels to be really successful.

That's all mate, don't get tetchy.

Its all very well saying that if Kenwright had hired somebody else we'd be relegation fodder. The thing is we'll never know because he didn't hire somebody else.

Yes, if you ignore how well the team has done in the last five or so years than the picture looks a lot bleaker. But why the hell would do you that?

It's not exactly difficult to say "if you ignore all of somebody's successes all you've got left is failures" nor is it particularly insightful.

Thing is it it bleaker? Financially we manage our debt and improve the team. Were just don't have the resources to commercially improve the club via a world wide fanbase.

That's why United have done so well, they struck at the right time and made all the right moves. We never, but that's not to say we are not improving as a club, because I would say we are.

I see. I remember a bit of [Poor language removed] before the mid/late 80's and happily wallowed in our success then :)

I suppose in the 60s and early 70s we held a similar position to that of Chelsea, ManU and City today.

Ever notice we seem to five yaers to late with everything!

Can see Utd and Arsenal waining when Fergie and Wenger leave - Liverpool just dont have the finace or manegerial nous, i think in time we will be back up there.

One season in the CL would do wonders for us.
