Show me a team thats improved its postion without spending vast sums of money.

Its alright sayin "FFS LADS NIL SATIS LADS"

But we really do take a banana to a gunfight every Season.

/shrugs

It's as if we should be grateful for finishing 7th because "Remember the 90s lad, dark days them lad".

We should be trying to be the best, trying to progress all the time, after all our club motto states that, but the motto seems to have been forgotten by a lot of people.

Sick of every year, "Moyes has done great getting Everton to 7th" is that what we are settling for now?
Look at what teams above us have spent. It's ridiculous compared to us. They also haven't had key players taken from them on the last day with no money to replace them. I'd like to see us outstrip Newcastle as they are the only team even remotely on the same playing field.

Kanchelskis and Limpar, Ferguson and Rideout, Southall and Watson that was an utterly boss team mate. Royle was here only two years and we won a trophy and finished 6th and played some of the best football I've seen at goodison and beat liverpool at anfield.

Walter Smith and Mike Walker shouldn't be the benchmarks for an everton manager, compare Moyes to Kendall and Catterick, mate.

That's like saying Jelavic is poor because he's not Dixie Dean. 2 good year since the 90's don't make for a great decade. I'd happily follow you back to those 2 years but it seems you have forgotten the rest of the time before Moyes got here and the changes he has made to help get us back to where we should be. Without funding its a long road back but to argue that he's been c..p because he didn't do what Royle did and that you would prefer the decade before based on 2 years is not what I would call logical.

Moyes comes across as a strong man - character-wise. In reality he's just a willing cats paw for his paymasters.

He talks about 'ambition' and 'achieving success' with Everton. It's strictly for the birds. No one's listening to that horeshit anymore. The feller is in on the scam with the board up to his elbows and taking the piss. How people continue to fall for the line he's seperate from them I dont know.

How you actually believe a Premier League manager, or any football manager for that matter, has no ambition is completely beyond me.

He simply doesn't have the funds to make us Champion's League spot contenders... With the current board, no manager could.

It's ridiculous to say "5th, 5th, 8th, 7th, 7th, 'kinell Moyes is that all you can do?"

That's propaganda the media spreads, it's not true. You can win trophies without big money, you absoloutely can. Moyes job is to get the most possible out of our resources and he just doesn't. If Moyes picked our strongest eleven rather than phil nev and Victor Anichebe and didn't **** himself for the first six months of the year we'd do better.

Show me a team thats won something without big money.

Manchester City spent 650m NET to win the League.

So are we settling for that now? Coz it seems we are. 'Plucky' old Everton doing amazing finishing 7th?? Do me a favour. The issue shouldn't be, all the clubs above and some below outspend us so aren't we doing amazing to be where we are, it should be why are we allowing this mentality at our club? Sir John Moores sacked a manager for finishing 4th in a taxi in the 60s, fourth!

His quote something like, "Everton, a very good crowd, but they expect success and if they don't get success something should be done about it and something will be done about it" That is the mentality that made our club great, not this sh1thouse "punching above our weight to keep up with the big boys of Chelsea and City" mentality where we are happy to be in 7th.

If we're a midtable club and we're not going to either challenge for the title or get relegated then what you judge a manager on is the other stuff, cup runs, derby games, the entertainment value of the football and the chances of talented kids getting in the team.

I'd happily finish 13th rather than 7th if it meant we play better football, have a go against the kopites and play the kids more.

I hate the "plucky Everton" monicker, But people do need to temper their expectations. We are historically a big club but that is history. The billionaire backed clubs are successful for a reason and we can't compete with that. We have a good squad and we will take points off of anyone in the league but Moyes hasn't ever been able to build a team completely in his image I don't think due to constraints. We finish where we should really.
