It's the way we did it Friend though. Lukaku Schneiderlin and Gueye are doing no better than Bent Osman Hibbert.

I dunno Saint DominFrandgo, I thought the Schneid was ok first half, Rom only had one clear sight of goal and scored. Gueye was poor but that was his criticism at Villa, if the game looked unassailable he'd give up.

Deserved to get beat but we are building. Koeman will know what is needed and he will try to get who he wants in. I apologise because he has been excellent at Everton but Baines is costing us. He is not aware he is not a great defender and more often than not he needs about 3-4 seconds on the ball before knowing what to do with it and usually passes it backwards. He is losing us any momentum nowadays. Need a stronger CB (Keane will do) and more support for Rom. Difference in teams was movement off the ball and Spurs drive forward most of the time. We tend to check back too much and rely more on Rom to hold play up. Lesson learned today and I am confident Koeman will learn and act on it.

I agree with you about Baines, god bless him. There were times he could have gone forward but took the backward option. In doing so, he once presented Kane with a chance which he didn't take.

However, I don't think Keane will do for Everton. We need a higher class of player than him and should look abroad, I reckon.

think it's a bit to late for him to realise it now ha. I don't think the setup was all wrong, should probably have gone with mccarthy not barry though. We just haven't got the attacking players tbh.
We just do not have the wingers to play counter attacking football against Tottenham LOL. McCarthy would have made a difference though, surely.

Outplayed away from home by a team who are about 3 years further down the line in delopment then we are.
Could have played better but still any rational fan will know we have a lot to do to close the gap. We will finish 7th and more then likely get Europe. That's progress .

This is nonsense. The gap isn't as big as we made it look today. Anyone could see what player and tactical changes needed to be made to make us compete with them. We were the better side when we finally decided to do that.

It was a more even game after the subs but too little too late. All the midfielders were in each other's way but did little to slow spurs down.

The difference is Ross took it upon himself to try and impact the game. The rest meekly accepted defeat because they knew 'oh well it's Spurs, we're Everton, won't be so bad to lose'. First time I've seen Ross turn up so hopefully more follow his lead, can't just have one player doing it though.

It's going to take some time to root out the losers mentality from our club. It's been in place for three decades.

Some of the players are either nowhere near good enough or clearly past it, namely Robles, Funes Mori and Barry.

Also think Baines looks slower than ever. I think someone like Bertrand would be ideal. Or ask United about Luke Shaw. The midfield has had an overhaul upto now, come the summer defence should be priority #1.

Coleman and Baines to that list

same, he's had no big game exposure to me, he'd be more solid than someone like mori, but we need more than talent. It's the same as a kepper like marshall when he was at cardiff. These players play for crap teams so they're always switched on and kept lively. Totally different kettle of fish to where we are, we need keepers and defenders that will go over an hour just walking around and then have to switch on out of nowhere.

Season over.

Roll on August and for once buy the players who can make a difference Everton!
How is the season over? We've still got 7th place to fight for (which we are well on course to do and it would get us Europa football next season) and hope Man Utd slip up and give us an opportunity for 6th. The season has gone much better then I expected it to.

Annoyingly predictable.

But, Spurs are very good and this game really highlighted where we are lacking.

We all know our central defence is poor, that Baines is on the downward curve and that Rom needs more support. I expect all these positions to be addressed in the Summer. If this is all addressed (along with a quality 'keeper), I will look forward to next season with great confidence and excitement.
