He is obviously struggling with Thursday/Sunday, he is learning this season and I think some of the abuse is way way too early and is ignoring logic.
He was struggling before we even started of European campaigne. Let's not forget that Spurs had also played Thursday
I don't know what the Spurs team was on Thursday or how they played but we had a high energy and he thought a few changes were needed.

I will be saying it as it is, he made poor choices today but he has made more good decisions than bad over his time with us and surely that counts for something.
Last season yes, but I can't say the same about this one.

Thank christ. I didnt think so either! One thing I was baffled at though was the few occasions Coleman did seem be starting on one his runs, and instead of accelerating into space, he pulled up, and passed it inside. Couldnt get that. Maybe the Spurs fullback was a pacey lad and Seamus knew he wouldnt win the foot race perhaps.
not fully fit maybe? He looked a bit better 2nd half though.

I wondered about that too. Sometimes a recurring hammy problem can get into your head; possibly he isn't mentally back to opening the throttle all the way. But he also didn't have a lot of right wing support today, maybe he was just avoiding going into a blind alley.

Sometimes when he did look up we had one player in the box.
Our style of play has changed from last season and if we keep playing like today we will be looking at the bottom 4 instead of the top 4.
We must be so easy to play against

...but we weren't useless today. Not sure if Pochetino has worked us out but a few years ago at Soton we struggled against a high tempo pressing game, it was the same today. They smothered us. When that happens you really do need to get beyond your marker and only Barkley looked capable of doing that.
But every side that presses our back 4 (and most sides do, having noted this weakness) gets something out the game. For a side that supposedly 'builds from the back' it's suicidal to have as CBs two of the most uncomfortable defenders on the ball in the game. But the problems don't stop there. When was the last time our wingers played a quick give and go with our FB to exploit the space behind the opposition defence? Instead they without fail play the ball backwards to the FB and then remain pretty much in the same spot.

....thought they doubled up really well, clearly recognised the full back threat. Coleman got in a couple of times, most notably when Barkley found him and Lloris saved in the 2nd half. They made it very difficult for us.

Lets face it we were average at best in the second half. Spurs put 8 behind the ball and defended deep. We simply couldn't unlock them. We always seem to end up like this against Spurs away for some reason. Although I still think we're better than them its hard to justify that opinion because we don't get much at WHL.

I don't think any everton player let us down today. The management team need to hold there hands up and admit they committed football suicide today. how many times is Martinez going to go away to the decent teams and try to beast them. leaving us 2 against 5 in midfield sometimes was laughable playing 4 up away from home are u sure !. Leaving their best player the freedom of the park ! . We highlighted this before kick off, you need the un popular players with legs to earn the right for us to play football, without them it was obvious spurs were going to get straight into our back 4. Ross put in a man's shift today well done lad,bow your head Martinez.

Spot on with your comments.
I bet spurs were laughing when they saw eto'o in midfield.
Martinez was outmanaged today with ease.

I would like to see Martinez, acknowledge today's woeful performance. Today wasn't good enough, and he should say as much. It's really tough to pick a man of the match. Can't be doing with any positivity after that.

I don't think he knows his best 11. This is the best squad I have seen in 27 years of supporting Everton. But the performances just aren't good enough right now. Today we had all of our attacking options available yet failed to really trouble Spurs in the second half.

Players are definitely being played out of position. The result is disjointed performances, with our play lacking the purpose of last season. The backwards and sideways passing reminded me of The West Brom home match last season.

Baines and Coleman are not bombing on like they did last season. To see us lose a midfield battle like today would have been unheard of last season.

He needs to figure out what to do sharpish and put it right for the hull match otherwise we are going to fall behind the rest in the race for fourth place.

Yeah, forgot that during the game. Doesnt help watching on TV either, doesnt always show the bigger picture. So to speak.

3 massive points for us.
Another 3 away to the rent boys Wed and I can cancel Christmas - I will have already had it!

As I said earlier, I woke up with a more optimistic outlook for some reason and for once my gut instinct was correct.

The worry is though is he capable of sussing whats going wrong.
Look at the way wigan waved the white flag going down.
We have been poor all season and nothing has changed

We were outfought by a spurs side with zero flair.the lack of width on the right was an obvious problem but mcgeady isn't playing well enough to justify a place in the team.i don't think eto'o is suited to the number 10 role he was poor today and that's 1 mistake too many now from howard.that was a shocking error that let them back in to the game
