Great opening goal. And then pathetic. I have no idea what the teams instructions were, but we scored and then surrendered badly. A complete mess against a poor Spurs outfit. The league form has been disasterous.

We gave erikson the freedom of the park in the first half and got exactly what we deserved for doing so.

What ever happened to the team that under Moyes and Roberto last year would come from behind to win games? Just don't see it at all this season.

The team looked great on paper, but looked very very poor on the pitch
An experimental team were great against Wolfsburg mid week
We played on the break against the Germans
Spurs played on the break against us

This probably about sums it up. Look at twitter land before the game and you'd have thought we'd of won the game before it kicked off.

Fact is this kind of team never wins you games. You need your Ossies, Pienaar's or Naismith's to knit the play together and today is exactly why you need that.

I'm sick of losing to poor Tottenham teams everytime we play them. Gutted.

A bit annoying that. We started brilliantly I thought, 2 stupid goals, which I thought we had sorted after the first few weeks, then coming up against a Spurs side who actually looked up for it for a change.

Looked like Barry was rushed back maybe as well, either that or he had an eye on Besic, who although I thought he played pretty well, lets face it, your heart is in your mouth when he is involved at times!

Pen? Maybe, not exactly clear cut either way, but even so, I bet that was the lowest number of shots on target we have had for ages.

Good game though.

Have we taken Ray Wilkins on to our staff with all the sideways passing? Where was the quick balls to feet or in to space?

He's got to give Ross a run in the number 10 role now, this putting him on the wing nonsense is doing nobody any favours. Our future hopefully lies in a forward partnership of Lukaku and Barkley, lets start developing it.

I watched this match with a bit of frustration because I wanted Everton to win this one more than any other game.

I hate to say it but it should have been the other way around, Spurs being allowed time on the ball and Everton playing from deep on the counter. I liked the Wolfsburg game and Martinez should have been played it the same way IMO.

We're beating ourselves. We really are. Handing teams goals left right and centre. Have we conceded a goal this season were us a fans have thought 'Decent play that' or have we literally sat here saying 'HANDED THEM A GOAL AGAIN', the latter has been said more times than the former thats for sure.

Yip Red 1 a tactical masterclass in how not to play against Spurs

Naisy to come straight back in when he is fit. His presence adds a bit of bite and intelligence to our play. Good example in the second half today when Lukaku pulled the ball back across the goal and no one gambled for a tap in.....Naismith territory.
