oh dear
Quite. The season has been very poor, and we need to be seeing a return to aggressive tactics and play. Bobby's not doing himself any favours with his line ups and lack of proactive changes in tactics and subs. Today he went like for like a la Moyes, and we even had an unused sub on the bench. What on earth made him think that the formation and the performances were ever going to get us back in the game? He praises the Pienaar-Baines combination to the rafters yet doesn't give it a go when the team on the pitch are badly underperforming and his tactics are having no impact on the opposition.

Uncomfortable?? I cant remember him giving the ball away. His passing was good and he broke up play well.
He was the only player who passed further than 5 yards without giving it away. Besic was a class act today unfortunately Barry looked like a player who was rushed back. Easily his worst performance for us.

Last season our passing was slick 100mph stuff at its best. This season and particularly at the back, watching that ball trickle from centre back to centre back to full back is absolute agony. I understand waiting for the right pass, but if we pass that slow its no wonder that teams close us down quickly. When playing passing football, the final ball needs to zip and make the opposition get knackered. This isn't happening at the moment and if it doesn't improve I can see us bottom half come January.

This is why we're awesome in Europe, slower game but quick counter attack. Not the same in the league, up the tempo lads, pleease!! For the love of god!!

Disappointing result, thought Spurs played well in patches particularly the latter period of the first half.

Great goal by Mirellas, thought Besic was our best player today.

Even with the number of changes between games the Thursday/Sunday routine is definitely a factor. It's a learning game though and we'll get there.

Disappointed but not discouraged, first defeat in nine, time to start another run.

Tremendous support today btw

Stats shows the same at whoscored. Got 7,5 points (4th best in the team), 88 touches ( most in the team) with 89,3% accuracy; 3 tackles (2nd best in the team), 2 key passes along with Baines (best in the team which is sad because he's a DM).

Fair enough - any stats that show his loss of possession in key areas of the pitch? As I know they happened.

I'll happily concede he did a few simple passes and occasionally stepped away from his marker etc. but he was a liability on occasion, and no matter what stats say that is definitely true.

we've been saying it all season. osman's had a good season for me, but howard, jagielka, distin and barry have been nowhere near the level of last season.

Yeah but we still need experience in there and cant just go mad and get rid of all. When stones is back id bring distin out and maybe look at starting to give besic abit more game time in barrys position. Keeper needed either january or in the summer too.

I am saying our football is slow and poor and that is down to the manager.
I have not said to sack him,but watching how he is performing this season i am not happy.
Its been like this since august and he does not seem to know how to change it which again is a worry.
I think we would all agree he is a nice man but so was ghandi

There have been times where we have looked to play quicker football but when a team sets up and works as hard as Spurs it was hard today. Martinez was on the touchline shouting 'quicker' so it is not like he was wanting to play slow for 90 minutes.

What is hard to understand though is the quick tempo worked last season so why change it

Fk sake Everton. Should've played like we did on Thursday. Contain them and run riot on the break.

It's annoying that we have to keep rushing injured players back to replace newly injured players. If McCarthy is fit there's no way Barry plays there. But Martinez needs to realise we can't play Barkley and Eto'o in the same team.

Hope we find some inspiration on Wednesday and tear Hull a new bumhole.

So your saying spending 100's of millions doesn't give you a better chance of winning stuff?

*Contacts City's owners*

I couldn't care what they do mate or what they spend I care about us. If we were 5 points ahead I would be laughing my arse off at them but at present we are no better, they atleast have sturridge to come back what's out excuse when it's the manager who's decision making is costing us week after week.

Favorites, moyes had neville and osman and martinez has eto'o and Naismith. Both good players but he is too scared to leave them on the bench for the good of the team and it's cost us precious points again.

We have been like that all season though mate its up to the manager to quicken our tempo and change things round

Besic was probably our best player today, I'd give him 7/10.

I don't know, I think he sometimes looks better than he is... take those balls he kept playing to Coleman, in theory it was good play (moving the ball forward, widening the game, etc.) but they were so looping that by the time the ball got to Coleman, Spurs had already shifted over to deal with it. And almost gave away a goal.
