martinez got things wrong again imo. eto'o needs to stay on the bench. we need to play with two wingers, i know barkley, naismith and eto'o are all better players than mcgeady, but it just hasn't worked. we need two wingers now mirallas is back and not a central player stuck over there.

his decision to bring osman on was baffling, he clearly doesn't trust atsu but he needs to be given a chance. he's something different. osman coming on to play wide was never going to change the game.

barkley had an appaling game and rom never even saw the ball all game which meant the last 10 mins he had to try and make something happen.

i thought not being able to win at anfield was bad, but this was even worse, that was a terrible spurs team.
I thought spurs looked good, quick at moving the ball, breaking with speed and stretched us constantly

We are slow, easy to defend against, weak up top with a lack of goal scoring prowess in the side, when miralles went off 50% of our goal threat was taken off!thought Barkley had a decent game but spurs snuffed us out all game

Our manager needs to figure out how to break teams down when they sit deep and defend in numbers, that's when we'll see if he's up to the job,the honeymoon is well and truly over.......

Hate losses like this when they are so self inflicted, seen it to much this season that have caused results to end in draws. I don't think Barry should have played today didn't look himself. Howard and Barry at fault for the goals.

But hey, we're all generals after the battle

Also, why has Coleman stopped taking people on, his first thought is to offload

Been watching and learning from the master

I said that before mate, he looks a shadow of last season. He made bold decision, subs that changed games; He now looks like he is just happy to stick to his favourites. How many people predicted before that he'd bring Mirallas off bang on 60 minutes? It's always the same, for the same subs too e.g Osman. He has lost the spark he had last season imo.

He is obviously struggling with Thursday/Sunday, he is learning this season and I think some of the abuse is way way too early and is ignoring logic.

Our elder players really let us down today. There experience is vital but they couldnt handle the intensity. They pressed us and chased everything. Aggresive, chasing, running. We couldnt deal with it. They always had 2 or 3 players surrounding the player in possesion once it got to midfield. Distin, eto'o, barry, howard all poor today. Not to say they are all awful. Just we had no legs

It took about 4/5 years for the name calling to start for people who may have said something nice despite not playing well, you are quick off the mark.

I am a proud Martinez 'lover' or as we like to call our selves 'a level headed' fan.
Is level headed the right phrase i would say more eyes closed.
The football is turgid and slow it does not work in the premier league.
We have no plan b and he keeps playing players out of position.
He is not the manager of last year nor does he see it

our diamond of howard, jagielka, distin and barry were all shocking today imo. the centre backs were nervy and very uncomfortable on the ball against the pressing, the keeper has not had one hard shot to save all match yet ended up shipping two goals and barry looked every bit of a man who was far from 100%. just our rotten luck that the two players who could have played instead of him were also injured. who else gets 3/4 of a CM partnership injured at one time?

Too many passes and too slow going forward, no plan B....
Yes..and you could plainly see Martinez yelling at the players 'quicker, quicker' It was even mentioned in commentary. The Plan B was to push Barkley up behind Lukaku when Eto'o tired, but apart from one brilliant dribble, Barkley had a nightmare.

The two goals we conceded were bad mistakes 2nd one looked to be a foul on barry who was so slow today i.e. not fit - Howard for the first one a soft shot which he should have punched behind for a corner - after a classic give the ball thump away by dustbin!
Spot on. make mistakes like that and you loose games. The
problem its not the first time this season

we've been saying it all season. osman's had a good season for me, but howard, jagielka, distin and barry have been nowhere near the level of last season.

it can go both ways. we don't know the ins and outs. we've had terrible luck with injuries, osman seems the only one who hasn't been getting them.
We have had terrible injuries, you're right but his predictability is a problem. If us mere fans can see what he is going to do before a ball is even kicked, what we expect a professional football manager paid millions of pounds will know?
