Awful all round, got better after the subs but they were 15 minutes to late.

Nothing worse than throwing a lead away but doing so against a rival in such a lacklustre way makes it feel worse. Martinez needs to shoulder a lot of responsibility for today's result.

No balance in the team for most of the game and certainly no urgency, Spurs wanted it more today.
Bang on and playing eto'o in midfield what a joke.
I wonder how long it will take for some of the martinez lovers to open their eyes.
The slow slow slow crab football is a joke

Someone tell Parry and neville that spurs at hijr the blerts

Yes. we are not winning the league and I want to see us win something. We could cope with both demands but we're messing about with the formation and playing too many people out of position.

Playing thursday had nothing to do with Howard and distin screwing up again

Course it does. Playing games in between days ( which we swill more over Christmas) and travelling on planes effects you.

It doesn't tone for the individual errors but it plays a part.

And when we get knocked out the Europa our form will dip worse

Despite that huge mistake (and now at the end when he kicked Kane int he face) and Your fears about his long runs I really liked what I saw today from Besic. Just a few wrong passes (hardly can reckon more than 3 or 4, the long ones were all good), full of confidence. And always tried going forward while no one else dare to take the risk. And the 10 mins rampage calmed down at HT, didn’t get a card at all just healty agressiveness. He might looked better at Thursday but there he defended more and Osman moved forward. Today it was the other way around with Barry. And tbh I still think that he and McCarthy together would be really-really good. Looked a little tired though.

I liked Besic today too. You are spot on. At least he tried and looked up for it. Made a few errors but he was hungry for the ball. He will be McCarthy's partner next season I think

For once, just once, I'd like him to fire a rocket up that teams arse (lol), but he can't, because he set them up to play that way with that "composed" mindset.

Utterly ineffectual, and no plan B. It's like a different version of Moyes all over again - sometimes you have to battle to win a game. Throw your principles and philosophy out the window and get the job done.

That second half was an indictment on Martinez as a manager.

Yeah but he got us 5th last season, we're lucky to have him.

Very lucky really, maybe Barcelona have forgot how to use a phone.

Too many touches on the ball, no movement in the final third. Just too slow, we're constantly trying to break down a defensive unit given plenty of time to get their shape because we dont move the ball quick enough. Lukaku might as well have had a deck chair. The ball is never played in front of him, he's probably given up all hope of ever receiving a through ball.

Slight over reaction. Reckon you will cringe tomorrow when you read your posts back.
Nah I think he does the European thing well
PL teams rountinely press us and we go nowhere.
They press Baines or Distin whoever is left in possession
It's not exactly chess

Barkley at times could have released the ball, played a pass through quite a few times, i think he was getting payed today for the amount of step overs he was making lol

Is Martinez so arrogant as to think he is right every single time? He just will not change at all despite it being obviously [Poor language removed] all season.

He has changed it a few times in Europe and the league and is everybody is forgetting last season.

The massive tactical change against Man Utd and the slight change with Lukaku out wide against Arsenal.

Also, I have seen a lot of abuse with Martinez 's subs, again how many times was he praised last season. I am still confident that it will come.

Literally every single time we put out a near/full strength team after a spate of injuries.

They defended really well and we had no answer all game. They also did a lot right going forward, spurs. Reminds me of WBA away in 2012. We'll be ok. I had this one written off anyway, as we always f*cking lose in frustrating circumstances there. Beat Hull and forget about it.

martinez got things wrong again imo. eto'o needs to stay on the bench. we need to play with two wingers, i know barkley, naismith and eto'o are all better players than mcgeady, but it just hasn't worked. we need two wingers now mirallas is back and not a central player stuck over there.

his decision to bring osman on was baffling, he clearly doesn't trust atsu but he needs to be given a chance. he's something different. osman coming on to play wide was never going to change the game.

barkley had an appaling game and rom never even saw the ball all game which meant the last 10 mins he had to try and make something happen.

i thought not being able to win at anfield was bad, but this was even worse, that was a terrible spurs team.
