so, what do we do on Saturday?

As every team will have a different loan contract...did city put it into barrys that he cant play against them? or were they not ar5ed about it?

Barry will be a big miss already, but gibson should slot in easily enough. Fitness would be my only concern with gibson, he must be gutted hes got glass legs since barry came here because he used to walk back into the side.

If Pienaar isn't healthy (and maybe, even if he is...), I'd start Deulofeu in his place.

Howard

Coleman
Jagielka
Distin
Baines

Mirallas
Gibson
McCarthy
Deulofeu

Barkley

Lukaku

I suspect that would actually be my favoured starting 11 even if everyone was fit and available.

Maybe I'm doing Barry a misservice but he does look a lot slower than the other players we have.

Barry doesnt need to be quick. His reading and understanding of the game is worth a yard on its own. Watch next time hes challenging someone bringing the ball out of the air, he doesnt head to the ball he heads to were he thinks the player will take the ball into.

Works for him time and time again.

Am I alone thinking that a Man City heroic comeback/draw tonight would be better for Saturday's match than a sound, 3-0 thumping? Surely they'll be ready to scratch and claw their way to victory after successive embarrassments. Maybe a moral victory, heroic comeback draw would do enough to create complacency for Saturday's affair.

Then again, total chaos and mayhem isn't bad either. I'd just rather not face angry Citeh.

Them getting thumped tonight doesn't help us at all.

They'll have a point to prove on Saturday and will probably be up for it now.

Pretty much this.

We need to get to HT still holding them and buld from there. They'll come roaring out on Saturday.

but even if they won 5-0 tonight Dave they would have come roaring out. Win, lose or draw is irrelevant, they are decent at home but they can be beaten and if we play to our potential and stay disciplined we can walk away with a positive result Saturday, whether that be a draw or a win I don't know. We've certainly gone there with ****ter sides and won previous and we now have match winners and impact sub players. I'm gonna stick my neck out and say 2-1 to us!

Yes, I'm not giving up on it. I just think if a team's been mullered like that and you have a squad full of quality players there's going to be an immediate push back. That's why I say, if we can get through the first 45 minutes unscathed we can start to roll out a winning game from there.

I love that word mullered for some reason. Aye mate, hopefully we can keep them quiet, get in front and make them chase the game and then hit them on the break. All that running round chasing shadows will hopefully leave them with heavy legs, especially with an early kick off. Would be nice to be joint top and it being in October!

Would you start with Lukaku then?

Balanced first half with Kone perhaps, trying not to concede, then bring on Spanish Gerard and Lukakau for the 2nd?
