Just when I was FINALLY moving past this (seriously, it's like a boyfriend broke up with me, I have no life), he has to put up three frigging tweets about Everton again.
Here's something that just gets me. LCAB, if we were going to find the money in the summer, why on earth can we not find the money now?????????????? Or take a loan for later????? Did advance sales on his kits????
It honestly, truly, sounds like he would come if there was a permanent deal on the books. NOW. There is not a SINGLE post about the LA Galaxy for WEEKS on his twitter account (in fact, other than his teeny profile picture you kinda gotta hunt to figure out he even plays with them - he's got more Everton references on his home page then the team he actually plays for).
It sounds like part of the reason he didn't come is that he just didn't want to chance a loan. Aka, put up or shut up. I did the loan once, I'm not going to take the chance of doing it again and not succeeding (especially when he knows he's tired and there's a chance he will not show as well). I don't want to do a loan again because why? I already proved myself to you. I don't think it's a matter of pride, I think it's honestly wanting to protect his contract if there was any chance that the perm deal wouldn't come through.
I mean, if it didn't come through, he would be back to the Galaxy in April, with his reputation again a bit tarnished heading into the Gold Cup.
I find it very, very, very hard to believe he didn't tell Moyes that if Everton had the money now he'd be there. He's practically begging on his twitter page (negotiating tactic? does anyone in the everton office check twitter posts?).
FIND. THE. MONEY.
