Until that happens, I think he's coming. Everything that's happened in the past, from Landon having an ace time of it here, to adapting to the game, to getting the love from the fans, to him reciprocating that love. All of that tells me it's still on. Whether it's a loan or permanent, who knows?

If i may ... i think the current 'situation' is making the 'Landy' situation have a lot of weight of expectation come, even if he did come back, imagine what was expected of him? Not from us personally the marginally sane blues like.

The only other thing I have to add to the press is that this is LD we're talking about right? I mean, Andy Carroll, okay, but LD?

Famously brought a stuffed animal to a competition. Steps out in hoodies and flip flops. Got married at 25. Is religious. Hasn't had a whiff of scandal in his life before now (minus the Beckham thing, but that was less scandal and more drama). Has pictures of his MOM and dogs on his twitter page. His **MOM**. Is 5' 7" and yes, has muscles, but in order to take on a bigger dude would most likely have to have another 3 men with him. Never seen him during games with the temperament to beat someone up. Has he ever left a game to a red card in recent memory???? The entire time he was in Liverpool there was never a refrain of any wild partying. He even had ESPN camera crews with him.

This is the guy I'm supposed to believe has orgies, wild crack parties and beats up on people? And did this in Liverpool in a 2.5 month period and not in YEARS in LOS ANGELES where his actress wife could have supplied him with any of this at any given time???? Or frankly, he could have afforded to purchase himself?

Bisch please. He is square. These stories will be COMICAL.

I also have to think about it this way - if he's known about this for awhile, which looks like he may have, he HASN'T SAID AN IMMEDIATE NO. To LCAB's point, so I can understand his hope. LD could have two weeks ago when the press was bugging him, said, "you know what, forget this, I'm not going."

But now he's said multiple times that he wants to think about it, which to me means he's, you know...thinking about it.

God, I hope he decides to go. I'm with the person who said it's no fun watching him in MLS anymore knowing what he could be doing and the talent he could be playing with.

I wanna punt this woman into kingdom come, whoever she is. And I guess she will become public at some point. Hope she isn't anywhere near Goodison at the time. That'll be fun for her.

2. Perhaps LD isn't concerned at all because this entire thing is BS.
 
It was I think the under 17 or 21 world champs, or maybe the olympics? - he brought a teddy bear or something like that. He was a teenager, but a male teenager, so got ribbed and was subsequently reported in the press later when he got popular.

I am trying my best to be optimistic with all this. Thanks to our Kay, she paints a very Walt Disney picture of Landon, the All American American who loves his mom, dogs and helps old ladies across the street kinda guy- An Image he has built up over his many years in the public eye in the States. The gutter press over here, love nothing more than breaking down those images for no apparent reason other than trying to sell newspapers and have a chuckle to themselves. They do it to our Politicians when the country is on a downward spiral and they even do it to our sports stars on the eve or even during major tournaments.

The only real silver lining to all this is Landon's public image over here. Within the Everton family, we love him like a long lost cousin who has suddenly turned up for the Christmas holidays out of the blue ! But, I think your average football fan here couldn't give a rats ass about some yank on loan to Everton. In fact, I don't think any of our players would register on most peoples radars when it comes to a scandal ! Not that I'm putting our guys down - I think it would bother most people as much as a guy on loan to Aston Villa. Yes , he's LANDON DONOVAN, but I think any scandal, no matter how contrived, would be yesterdays news very quickly. Ashley Cole on the other hand - even his own country men want him to fail!!

I'm putting a positive spin on this? maybe - But , we need to get it over to Landon and his people that you can throw as much crap at our guy and it will just make him stronger :) Cos he's got the entire Everton fan base - globally behind him :)

Indeed, when he was 17 and went off to Bradenton - it was a gift from his girlfriend. And amazingly, years later, I happened to come across her facebook and she wrote about him in veiled words...anyway, he broke her heart. Apparently they were quite in love then, hence the teddy bear. In fact, IIRC, he was holding it at the press conference after his first game with the full national team in which he scored his first goal and got his first assist in a 2-0 win at the age of 18.
