Silva and Martinez

Unfortunatlery I think Silva will face what RM never had to: a successful Liverpool. That will make a massive difference for Silva. If Liverpool are champions (as I expect) then the already impatient fanbase will crush any manager who isn't seen to be making substantial strides in the table and on the domestic cup front.

If they win the league, Silva next season will have to have us right in amongst the top 6 and knocking very loudly at the door of the CL spots.

It's an unfortunate by-product of external events.
Good point that you make but I think it's your 'glass half empty' view. I prefer to look at the alternative scenario i.e. Klopp fails to win the league this year and we continue to improve next year. If you think we are impatient just watch as their fanbase crush Herr Klopp.

BTW, if Silva secures us 5th spot and a couple of cup SFs before getting off elsewhere, I'd see that as an acceptable return......

Nothing would please me more mate.

I've watched the last two games of theirs unfold though, and I see the fixture lists, and I accept the situation now.

Yes Dave, I recall watching Jags and Distin play pass the football for 90minutes every week for 2 seasons once his plan A didnt work.

That’s clearly a lie. Jagielka can’t pass a ball for one minute never mind ninety. If you’d said “watching Jagielka hoof 70 yard diagonals to nobody for 90 minutes” I’d be inclined to agree.

I'd like to go one or steps further than just getting to the semi-finals though D.
Of course...and one place further in the league. But from where we were/are, that would be progress.

If Silva repeats RM's record it'll be a qualified success.....

They're continental managers. You never see either being compared to Koeman or Moyes.

It was a poor comparison last year when we were chasing Silva, it's even worse now he's our manager.

The fact their continental suggest they have some similarities. Why would anyone even think to compare either of them to Moyes or Koeman?
