Shut it Neville, you belter

Exactly its a classic straw man argument.

Neville says x and Davek attacks him for extrapolating y from x.

Davek if we didn't know you are a blue I could extrapolate from most of your posts that you are a kopite. And then start endless threads with the pretext to assassinate your character because of it.

God knows you never say anything positive about our players, captain, manager, board or club. It's just dumping sh!t 24, 7.

Maybe that's being a fan for you lad, but for me, I like to cheer the lads on, you know SUPPORT them.

The only team he ever praises is Man u mate .

How have I misrepresented him? I've interpreted his comment about selling a 'superstar' player to mean Rodwell or Fellaini. I suppose I could be wrong about that...maybe you should have a stab at who he was talking about if I'm misrepresenting Neville in that regard?

So - 'superstar player': who is Neville talking about?

He was talking, on a generic basis, about the economic reality of the club - and that Moyes may be forced into something approaching a hobson's choice of deciding to cash in, on whatever ludicrous bids come in, on the players he has.

He didn't mention a single name or team mate, which is how you attempted to portray it earlier in the thread - and don't pretend you didn't.

I'm sure Neville would be quite happy if we didn't have to sell one of these kind of players to buy but there you go. This isn't some elaborate plan to support some decadent rotten empire of greed. He was interviewed on the radio and is now paying the price for stating the bleeding obvious.

I wasn't expecting this thread to turn this boss. Angst, all over the show.

Keep it up. This could have been davek's "Damon hates single mums moment" but he's a fighter, he's still swinging.

I also feel the need to add, although its kind of ludicrous i'm here on an Everton forum defending Phil Neville - that the only reason we would sell one of our players is for the greater benefit of the Everton squad.

Sell one player worth 30 million and buy three or four. A million miles from ideal but there you go. Until we get fresh money/owners in what can you do.

Neville has got **** all to do with any of the economic realities of the club. YOu are just pissed off he didn't come out with somethign over the top and ridiculous that would match your agenda - along the lines off:

well what do you expect when Billy Liar is still in charge of the club, won't sell and isn't willing to put a penny of his own money into the kitty.

Lol!

I tell you what, if Everton spend three-quarters of the money brought in this transfer window coming I'll be amazed and delighted. This lot are selling to cover their financial losses and Moyes will get what's left over.

An endorsement from the edge too.

davek is thriving here.

I love some ace random rants, Round, Neville - anyone who wants to join the I do not heart Tim Howard bandwagon just let me know.

I personally think its all semantics, Capn Phil has only said what he believes the position the club to be at. He doesn't name names he merely states that if selling one of our better players helps the club to move forward then so be it, nothing wrong with that. The problems on here are dependant on what context you take his comments in, Haters think he's trying to underhandedly sabotage the club. Supporters realise he is only stating the obvious. At the end of the ay its highly unlikely Capn Phil will be consulted over transfers or investment so why the 'kill phil' attitudes by some who profess to be blue.COYB!!

I think you're overstating the strength of feeling against Neville here mate. No one hates or feels ill will toward him. Personally I just think he's a whopper who wouldn't know what Everton meant if he was sat down and given a 10 week starter course in Evertonology. He just doesn't get it. All this Mr Professional stuff and the statements about what he thinks Everton is and where it should be - I just hoot with derision when I read/hear it. He hasn't got a ****ing clue about this club - what we view as our place in football and our expectations. We're not also rans and never will be. In a few years time when we've sorted ourselves out and are winning trophies again you'll look back at the statements of fainthearts and know nothings like Neville and wonder how they had the temerity to even doubt Everton's status in the English game.
