I think you're overstating the strength of feeling against Neville here mate. No one hates or feels ill will toward him. Personally I just think he's a whopper who wouldn't know what Everton meant if he was sat down and given a 10 week starter course in Evertonology. He just doesn't get it. All this Mr Professional stuff and the statements about what he thinks Everton is and where it should be - I just hoot with derision when I read/hear it. He hasn't got a ****ing clue about this club - what we view as our place in football and our expectations. We're not also rans and never will be. In a few years time when we've sorted ourselves out and are winning trophies again you'll look back at the statements of fainthearts and know nothings like Neville and wonder how they had the temerity to even doubt Everton's status in the English game.

Having read most threads on here i don't think i'm understatig ow some fans feel about him, and lets be honest Davek take out Ozzie n Hibbo and who else does know what it feels like to be a true blue, every single player apart from those 2 n Vic, Vaughny are bought in so on that summise you obviously fel none of them have Everton in their hearts just thier wage packets.

I dont particularly care about what the players think - but if they feel they want to run up the white flag and talk about the club as a historical relic then they should belt up and say nothing. The players are the hired help as far as I'm concerned. The club is everything.

Jackpot post right there. Spot on.

Agreed, as long as they give 100% on the pitch they have my full backing. But yes the club does and should come first, players come and go.

YOU BAD TORY!

The hired help that wear the royal blue,
the hired help that cross the white line and play the game we love,
the hired help that run out to Z cars on sunny goodison days
the hired help that score the goals that win games
the hired help that have throughout our history lifted the fa cup, the cup winners cup
the hired help that have won league titles
the hired help that the fans clamour for autographs, shirts, memorabilia or to have their photographs taken with them
the hired help that become everton legends
the hired help that fathers tell theirs sons about in whispered reverent tones

there's a statue of the 'hired help' outside goodison park I say a little prayer to before the game.

Everton players are no more the hired help than the fans are customers.
There's an energy, a spirit, that's runs through the club and the fans and the players.

It's a shame some of you aren't feeling it.

Nick Barmby was hired help.

Alan "Proactive" Stubbs is hired help.

Kenwright is a parasitic infection.

The ideal of the club is greater than some (only some) of it's current parts.

Everything you state there was prior to the Premier League, money grabbing, blood sucking, Sky Sports induced crapfest we have today.

The game has changed. Whilst I'll applaud true legends like Dixie, Young and co, there will never be another. The last legend was Duncan Ferguson and he was a dying breed when he was about.

There's nothing to feel anymore. The modern game is soulless, and your loyalty should be to the club, not the employees who milk it for a few bob until something better comes along.

What the man that saved us? Just because he hasn't got the money anymore doesn't mean he's a 'parasitic infection'. We are so lucky to have a chairman that actually loves the club. He's an Evertonian and wants what's best for Everton. I for one believe him when he says that we haven't had any takeover bids that match the criteria of being the best possible option for taking Everton forward. Yes we need someone with money, but he knows that as well as all of us.

People have short memories.

Ok, he's an auto immune disease destroying us from within?

I think Tim Cahill will beg to differ

I like him, I wasn't so convinced and then he done that handball on the line in the last minute thing against LFC and I liked it. Self sacrifice goes a long way with me, it's one of the reasons I like Jesus too.

Anyway, you either like him or you don't. Or you're not arsed. Whatever any one types on this thread isn't going to change your opinion of him I reckon.

We could do better at right back, we could do worse. We could however do a very lot worse for a captain.

Yer nanna lad.
