Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

Moyes at the Brighton. Palace play-off semi tonight.

I'm glad to hear that because people on another board were laughing at the picture which suggested the manager of Everton was at the United victory parade.

Which I believe he should have been, BTW......but as the ex-manager of Everton whom left the club the moment he bacame supremo elect at OT.

Hes doing well, its quite difficult to be in 2 places at the same time.

Who knew he had that in his locker.

The players didnt train yesterday, I do hope none of those split themselves in 2 and managed to be spotted in Manchester and Brighton at the same time.

Moyes had a day off yesterday. If he decides to have lunch with Ferguson and Giggs, so be it. If he goes to the Brighton/Palace game so be it. He has said he would help us choose a replacement, he may have been assessing Poyet, who has been mentioned as a possible replacement. Could he not? But it is his time, his day off, how he chooses to spend it is up to him.

Moyes is history now. We have waved our farewells and gave him the reception he deserved. We need to move on.

Seems a bit more likely that he was watching Zaha.

I've only just read his comments about Everton never being as good as they were in the 80s. Pretty disgraceful.

I'm glad he's gone. Just a shame he isn't taking the best chairman in the world with him, the self-serving ********.

I took those comments slightly differently. He was talking about our support for the players when he said that, and I took it to mean "the current players will never be as good in the eyes of the fans as those from the 80's"

and "next week" he'll meet wayne rooney. to be honest, starting work for a new employer while doing a "notice period" isn't that unusual I guess, but it'd be best if he just severed ties now

With Fergie saying he decided at Christmas he was retiring, I still feel that it wasn't long after that that Moyes knew he was taking over from Fergie. Thats either illegal or at least undercover tapping up , unless of course, as I suspect(or speculate, whatever you like) that Bill was also in on the secret.

I'm Happy to give moyes and bill stick when they deserve it , which certainly in bills case is pretty often but I honestly think he had absolutely no idea . I also don't think moyes knew until really late on .secrets get out in football and it seems the bets happened perhaps when moyes told his back room staff over the weekend and even then pretty much the whole of football still weren't convinced .

I honestly think this was a surprise , the official story that i think eill come out is and may well be true that the approach was made directly by ferguson at his home the Thursday the week before . Of course that could be more speculation and rumour , I don't think any of us really know .

And you know that because?

In fairness mate the poster said "it seems more likely " and in fairness doesn't it ?

It is not illegal to talk to an out of contract manager as he is in July as he would not sign his own at EFC contract which was an improved offer! That's when BK should have warned him sign it or you will be replaced - BK showed him loyalty that is not in the game now it is a farce our best manager left for Spain no big guard of honour for him & he won major trophy's lets face it BK is a poor businessman realise Man U knew that it was so easy for them - DM could have signed a 2 year deal so we got some compensation to pay for our new Manager now we are left wondering will BK fetch someone in on the cheap!

This is an aspect which I think is being mysteriously glossed over.

At what stage, even if only a week ago, did United approach Moyes, a manager under contract to another club?

If they didn't approach the club first surely that is in contravention of F.A. rules.

(pr PL rules or whatever the ruling body is)

Ergo I agree with you and I have thought this all along......Bill knew all about it from the getgo.

We can only speculate when Moyes was asked to take over at United. Just like we can only speculate why Moyes was at the Brighton/Palace match last night.

For some people there seems to be ...there I go speculating.

Moyes will be history come the end of the Chelsea game on Sunday. He served us well, and us him, and we have sent him off with a farewell that was fitting for what he did for us. The club and us supporters have been praised to the hilt for the class way we paid tribute to our manager who was leaving us.

The next chapter in this wonderful clubs history is soon to begin and I am look forward to it.

You could well be right. I'm a bit touchy about Moyes' comments regarding Everton as I've always felt he puts the club down in order to impress upon everyone what an impossible job he's done. I really don't like him though, so perhaps I'm biased.

Oh Moyes what a stupid thing to say regarding the 80s side! This team ant fit to lick the boots of that side. Once again ill say it, if Man Utd "got their man", we shouldn't be waiting to get ours. Just do it and stop dithering, we've shown u respect now show us some and sod off Davie. I'm sick an tiard of being told how lucky we were to have Moyes as manger. Ill say this slowly, THE. MAN. HAS. WON. NOTHING! Royle>Moyes anyday. Thanks for the memories Moyes but now do one an take Billy Liar with u!

I believe it was Saturday or Sunday night that Giggs, Moyes and Ferguson were having dinner in Alderley Edge. The question that SSN were asking was 'why was Giggs there?' Ferguson is notoriously aloof from his players....maybe they were discussing whether Giggs would have a coaching role at OT next season(SSN speculation). One thing is pretty certain, I think, and that is that they were not discussing Everton matters. I was never a big Moyes fan(a fact that anyone who has read my stuff on here and a previous forum will know) but he deserved a thank you from the fans. The dignity of his leaving, however, has been soured somewhat by his actions and comments since Manchester United announced his FORTHCOMING APPOINTMENT. Currently he is Evertons(lame duck) manager, and we are still paying his wages.
Whether Bill knew for months that a deal was in place or not, he has acted generously towards Moyes and allowed him a decent farewell. Its a pity that Moyes, in his enthusiasm for his new job, has taken it upon himself to start the job while still under contract to Everton.
